Wow. Guess we have no contest for Spiller now, but I really don't like the idea of Rex having a dynamic runningback like McCoy.
does that mean Spiller will be let go? Sweet. Also expecting RR to pursue Harris for the new opening at ILB.
Seems to me that's a steal for the eagles--I'm a huge fan of McCoy but he was a step slower last season. Maybe I'm wrong.
Great trade for the Eagles. People are going to go all in AWE about McCoy a high profile player going to Buffalo, but Alonso is a nicer pickup
Alonso was really really good as a rookie two years ago. Good deal by the Eagles. Sanchez to the Bills confirmed.
Thinking about it a little more, I think this is a great move for Chip (his first in charge of personnel) and another bad trade for the Bills. They traded a future STUD at one of the game's most important positions for a declining running back when they could have easily bargained for a quality cheap guy in free agency.
Great move for the Eagles. Getting rid of a RB while he still is worth something. Bills gave up a fantastic young player for someone who is already declining (Though I think his numbers dropped last year from injury).
How often is a team a "competent qb" away from being dangerous? I believe this will be viewed as a shortsighted move for the Bills mid way through the season.
I said this in the other thread but this a dumb move for Buffalo and a great move for Philly. Not only was McCoy a step slower last year, but running backs have a very short shelf life and are not a priority in this league. Kiko Alonso will likely be an outstanding linebacker and has a long bright future ahead of him.
Yeah. he rushed for only 1319 yards, he obviously must have one foot in the grave..tell me again what our best rusher did.
I expect Bills fans to rush in and defend this move obviously, but come on Kiko Alonso, co-defensive rookie of the year and sure he had an injury but McCoy gets hurt too. Truly being unbiased here, Alonso is a clearly more important player
If Alonzo comes back at full strength this might be a huge mistake by Buffalo. McCoy is still a top RB but we all know how fast one falls from that level. Plus he had a pretty average season last year..cant see that changing if the Bills dont massively upgrade at QB.
Can't forget about Preston Brown though, dude isn't as good as Kiko IMO, but he's a good linebacker. Hopefully Spikes doesn't return
3rd highest yards of all Rbs last year; he's no slouch. He only had 5 tds, though. I'd rather have a younger Kiko, but I think it was a decently fair trade.
