Yeah, they were talking about it on ESPN earler. They were talking about how his stock just dropped a lot. He went from a possible first rounder to probably third round. Pretty sad. It does explain his reluctance to run the 40 though. I hope the best for him, since that just sucks, but it sounds like he may not even be able to run until at least May. That's going to hurt him.
o yea still a 1st day guy.. but just where now 2nd rd or 3rd rd. wieght problems and a injury and no 40 time not good combination
Well, that makes draft really easy then, because if he is there at #35 then he better be a Jet.This is the best all around back in the draft and he can really hammer people iin the open field ala Bettis. He is not seriously injured and will be ready by May.It's really a no-brainer.
I'd like to agree with you, but I don't know. I think the Jets should bring him in and have a nice dinner with him if they have any interest in him. At least see if his head is in the right place. This injury came after the season was done and gone. Does he have the right committment to football is the big question. He did let himself gain weight. Perhaps that is only due to the injury, but you need to be sure before you take this kind of risk in the first couple of rounds. Either way, at this point, I wouldn't pick him until at least the second round.
I completely disagree. DeAngelo and Maroney are better than him and one of them should be picked by us.
What annoys me about this situation is this: Does anyone remember a similar situation a few years ago? A guy named Willis was a top 5 pick until he injured himself. The Jets and several other teams passed on him for much worse players without any injury risks. Last time I checked, that Willis guy burns us whenever we play him. The Jets biggest problem is that they can not take risks. This is why they will not draft Lendale or Vick, even though they would be getting unbelievable value.
I don't want Vick, but I agree with you on Lendale. He would be a huge steal if he was there at 35, or even 29.
Hahaha, no no no no nooo. Willis McGahee was not out of shape, had no motivation/character issues of ANY kind, and when he was on the field at Miami, had THE best season any Cane RB had ever had. Ever. Huge difference.
The thread title is very misleading...If he tore it, hello 3rd round if not later... It was a slight tear.
I disagree, Willis mcgahee is good example. He tore his knee to shreads, and was still taken in the first round even though they knew he couldnt play for that first season. Lendale late 1st- 2nd round
But he didn't completely tear it, I said if he did(hence a misleading thread title), then hello 3rd round...I mean, weeks before the draft, few months away from mini-camps...That's one hell of a hurdle to overcome from a torn hammy. Willis busted up his knee in Janurary...Had time to workout, rehab, etc...Show something. Had LenDale tore it completely this late, no way he'd be in the 1st or even 2nd.
