from KFFL NFL | Labor deal getting closer; free agency to be pushed back to Wednesday? Sun, 5 Mar 2006 13:41:51 -0800 Mark Maske, of the Washington Post, reports negotiators for NFL team owners and the players' union were making progress Sunday afternoon, March 5, toward settlement on an extension of their collective bargaining agreement, sources familiar with the deliberations said. It appeared increasingly likely that the league would push back the opening of the free-agent market, scheduled for midnight tonight, for a second time, perhaps until Wednesday, March 8. Sources said the owners and players were progressing toward a compromise in which players would receive approximately 59 percent of a greatly expanded pool of league revenues as compensation under a salary-cap system.
well, if they do get another extension, they have to be closer then they were on Friday. So I would say that if they get another extension then things should get done
. why in the world you need 3 days to hammer out a deal. if they didnt run from the table like bitches everytime they hit a snag it woulnt take so long.
Did you know the NFL CBA is hundreds of pages long? It is extremely complicated. This is also the way labor negotiations work. You may not like it, but its the way it is. Be thankful they are talking and trying to reach a deal.
Even though it is taking them forever to do this, a Pennington deal should be done by now. How much more time do they need? I mean really.
