Probably going to have to wait until they stop playing NL Central teams. They're destroying Zambrano and the hapless Cubs today.

I doubt he'll go on the DL. Beltran is what he is anytime there's any kind of little tweak with his legs he's going to probably sit out for a few days.

He had an MRI this morning he will definitely sit tonight, i saw an article on the mets website last night that said he has been playing with minor tendinitis in his knee pretty much the whole season. hopefully its just a little discomfort for a few days and he can come back.

Apparently the Cubs are taking their cue from their psycho manager:

Haha. Well Zambrano has always been animated on the mound and isn't Barrett the guy that punched someone for running him over at home plate?

Correct, but he punched A.J. Pierzynski, so everyone pretty much blamed the other guy in that one.

As every day apsses that Zambrano doesn't reach a new deal with the Cubs, its looking more and more likely that he'll hit the free agent market in the offseason.

With the quality of pitchers that will be available after this season, when the Mets will need to replace Glavine (and there's no telling if El Duque or Pedro will be viable options), Minaya looks better than ever for not overpaying for a middling starter last offseason such as Jeff Weaver or Gil Meche.

I think Glavine would be gone after this year. Hopefully, he surpasses the 300 mark, the Mets win the World Series, and he retires off a decent individual season.

    Martinez and Hernandez? Who knows.

Zambrano? No way would I be for him. Let some other team throw a ton of money at that psycho. He's already an asshole. What's he going to be like after he gets his big payday?
