Granted it's against lesser talented WR's, still a nice confidence booster that he's played rather well.
Disagree, he was covering Deion Branch in New England. And he was covering Vincent Jackson multiple times against the Chargers.
The throw was behind Jackson but even if it was caught it would have been behind the sticks and it would have been 4th down. Great coverage by Wilson on both of those plays
Branch is no speedster..or anything special. What was he doing prior to his return to NE. And the few times covering VJ was well played.
He is progressing into a nice CB. I'm sure he will have a mistake here and there but he is showing great instints and coverage skills. He no longer looks like a deer in the headlights like he did last year.
hahaha theyre bringing along wilson fine. throwing him at number 2 opposite Revis while trying to rebound from a shaky rookie campaign is the totally wrong way to handle that situation. hes getting better and developing at the pace he should be. maybe next yr or year after he makes cromartie expendable. even then Rex likes quality depth and when Wilson is the 3rd CB on your depth chart youve got the tools to stop teams in this pass favored modern NFL Cromartie is underrated by this board and usually overrated by the media who non chalantly call him elite. and aside from him doing his Pele impression in Oakland hes been good. people tend to forget him being an x-factor in the playoffs. minus a cple deserved and a few bogus PI calls he drew
Wilson is playing well this year. It's not unusual for the other CB's to have great ratings in the defense that Rex Ryan is running. In 2009 both Lito Sheppard and Donald Strickland were pretty damn good from a ratings stand point and I recall Drew Coleman not being too bad either. A system that forces the QB to throw quickly with overloads on the #2 and #3 receivers is going to make the guys covering those receivers look pretty good. Revis was like 4th in the NFL in targets in 2009 because everywhere that QB's looked there was bracket coverage except for his man. Given that choice a lot of QB's threw at Revis.
