I think this means he is returning for his senior season though. It'd take a really awful TE class for him to put himself in the mix because I think this might have destroyed his round 1 value. I see why WW85 didn't have Rudolph on his 1st round mock draft now. Falcons could have been a great fit for him. Shame, he was a huge target for Dayne Crist who has just been marvelous this year for the Irish.
Wow!! That's awful news. Baker, I hope I didn't give Rudoplh bad luck omitting him. It wasn't my attention to leave Rudoplh out of Round 1, just couldn't find a suitor. Rudolph was having almost a career season. My condolences to Mick.
http://www.google.com/url?url=http:...udolph&usg=AFQjCNHegmcppdJMq8Q_Q3Jk_TGm_659QA Kyle Rudolph is done for the season. Notre Dame's junior tight end, rated as a first-round pick in next April's NFL Draft by most scouts, will have surgery this week to repair an evulsion of his right hamstring. Rudolph suffered the evulsion (in which the tendon comes off the bone to which it is attached) in Notre Dame's 23-17 win against Pittsburgh last Saturday. The 6-foot-6, 265-pound Cincinnati native is arguably the top player for the Fighting Irish, although he had been battling a strained hamstring since camp in August. In his first three games, Rudolph had 21 receptions -- which lead the Irish -- and two touchdowns, including a 95-yarder against Michigan. In the next three games, though, Rudolph caught just seven balls with one touchdown. He had uncharacteristic drops vs. both Stanford and Pittsburgh, the latter one being one of his final plays of the season. "This is something that needs to take place the next few days," Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said during his weekly press conference on Tuesday. Expectations are that Rudolph, who is eligible to apply for the NFL draft next spring, will return to Notre Dame for his senior season.
That sounds tremendously painful. Rudolph is a fantastic tight end, too bad that this will probably derail his ability to go into next year's draft. I have no idea what the recovery time for an injury like this is, so I can't even speculate that he might still elect to leave.
Holy fucking Revis do I miss you Kyle. I was at the game against Navy... fucking embarrassing. Floyd was out too, but the fact that short yardage passing situations could have been converted if Kyle was out there. Fuckin triple option.
