Know that the favre era is officially over we have to look towards the future know. I think instead of drafting a a quarterback and bringing in another inexperienced quarterback.. the best bet would be to bring in a vet like they did in arizona and let them battle it out. Let rex pick the qb he wants know. I know alot of people say leftwich but what he had like 2 good seasons with the jaguars and hasnt done anything since. I honestly have said this all along but bring in Garcia. The guy has proven he can win with any team he plays on and his bringing that vet experience we need. He has an arm and his very mobile. Let him Clemens and Ratliff battle it out and who knows who will come up on top but honestly get garcia, get lewis draft a big wr with our first pick and i think the pieces of the puzzle will finally come to place.

Do you really think replacing one 40 year old QB with another is looking towards the future?

I don't think Garcia is the right option. He's thrived in the WC offense.

I think we should make QB the number one option on Draft Day and TRADE up to get a good one. I don't really want a retread like Garcia....

This team is built to win now, bringing in a QB wet behind the ears will delay that. I am for going after youth, but we will need a veteren to fill in now while the QB develops, + this gives us a chance now. Garcia has won in the CFL, was successful in San Fran and in Philly. He has good arm strength and is a threat to scramble, can play in the elements. I think he is a good fit for now.

The Cleveland Steamer would be just another old QB who had success with another team and stunk it up with the Jets. Kind of like Favre. And countless others.

Garcia's only contribution worth looking into would be his wife showing up on the sidelines in scantily clad clothing....nothing more.

    No...NO...NO!!!!

We need to move forward and not backwards. It's true a veteran QB is a safe bet, but look at other teams that went with rookie QBs...Denver, Atlanta, BALTIMORE...we should do the same. Draft one or give Ratliff a go.

Someone brought up Rhett Bomar in the Draft forum. I'm MUCH more in favor of using a late 1st day/early 2nd day pick on a QB like that with a ton of potential than I am on trading up to grab a QB in this draft OR grabbing someone like Garcia.

At some point we need to try to figure out who our Franchise QB is. Whether it's Ratliff or Clemens or someone in the draft.

Not every team has a franchise QB. In fact only a few do. The Jets certainly don't and there are none in this year's draft either.

Replacing one old QB with another is not the way to go in my opinion, i don't want to be looking for a new QB again next off-season. Much prefer to draft in a QB now.
