    For what it's worth-

    New York Jets A-

"The motto of the Jets' draft was quality over quantity. Mark Sanchez's selection made this team's draft because he's a franchise-maker. New coach Rex Ryan likes his defense, so the organization felt it could focus on the offense in his first draft. The Jets picked up Iowa running back Shonn Greene, who will fit into the rotation with Leon Washington and Thomas Jones. Guard Matthew Slauson was an OK pick in the sixth round, but the key to this draft is up top with Greene and Sanchez. "

Only team he grades higher is the Green Bay Packers.

Like I said in another thread..."It's quality over quantity".

We have 2 future possible pro-bowl starters on offense.

We still have a speed receiver issue (sort of). I saw articles this morning that the Jets are contemplating Plax. Well, maybe as part of his community service, they will let him out of the can on Sunday's. During the week, he can practice his stance and 2 yard outs in the cell.

its nice to have the 'A' now, but Sanchez and Greene have to earn it... i'm very confident in them both.

Time to troll the undrafted ranks for the "diamond in the rough" WR that may have been overlooked for whatever reasons..

It's much more likely to turn out a couple pro bowlers if you have 10 picks. All we can do now is pray.

    The key word is "possible".
This draft can not be graded until at least next seasons over, but more likely 2 years from now.

Forget the grades. This is our team. Let's just support them, have hope, and see what happens.

Yes that is a possibility. We also have young guys in Clowney, Stucky, and Marcus henery that are going to get a long look this season. If none of them pan out we can target a WR early in 2010.

I'm much more OK with our draft now than I was this weekend. This really was not the deepest of drafts and there just weren't the same type of quality Day- 2 players that there usually are.

True, the Jets did not add any quality depth at positions like DE and TE but they got at least 2 guys that are capable of becoming quality starters at key positions. The only downside to trading up and leveraging picks is that you'd better be right about the guys you trade up for. For every Darelle Revis, there's a DeWayne Robertson!

I really think that the Jets can fill their existing voids with Free Agent signings after the June 1 roster cuts.

It would have to be 2-yard ins, they won't let him out.

For the record, a poll on ESPN.com has the Jets being voted as having the best draft, with a 6% lead over the Packers. Obviously this doesn't mean too much about the actual quality of our draft, but it does mean that other fans are respecting our moves and obviously liked what they saw.

For the record, I'm glad to see the A from Kiper but in reality this whole draft hinges on the overall impact of Sanchez and Greene. I think they're going to be great and if they are it will be one of the best drafts in franchise history but if not it's going to just be as if the 2009 draft never happened.

How anyone can not say that the Giants had the best draft is beyond me.

It feels like they are grading on who had the sexiest draft.

The Eagles did really well: Maclin, Jackson and Westbrook on the field at the same time? That's a terror

i was impressed too... it wasn't a 'sexy' draft, but its a draft where they fortified positions and added depth... something a contender can afford to do. All of those guys will have careers... the first 4 picks will at the very least.

The Giants did extremely well, altho I was kinda surprised they took Nicks over Britt. Britt is 6'4" and Eli's favorite receiver was a 6'5". All things considered tho they still had a great draft

Maclin can improve his route running but imagine just having those guys run fly routes? One of them is bound to get open down the field for a huge gain at some pt

the WRs can just outrun people. Maclin will be great in 3 years, due to the route tree as you mentioned.

the NFC East is still the best division in the NFL.
