Kiper has a point. I don't like him, but then again I absolutely despise McShay..he's a complete dope. I really don't know how he got that job.
Kiper's a jerk...ESPN needs to get rid of him. He made himself look like an even bigger douchebag in this video. Schefter owns both of these guys on draft day.
My bad. I thought you were talking about assessing players in the Draft. But yeah, you're right, he does get inside scoop during the Draft and pretty much any/all team news throughout the year. When Schefter talks...people listen.
Schefter's just an insider, a completely different animal than Kiper/McShay/Mayock. It'd be one hell of a boring draft day if Schefter was the only voice out there. McShay seems to me like he's just a hype mouthpiece, I never really buy into what he says, and it's never anything we haven't already heard. Kiper's better than him, but he annoys people with strong opinions that a lot don't understand (many times rightfully so). Still, he's far and away more enlightening on draft day than McShay ever could be. Mayock's the best, because he makes it clear WHY he believes certain things much more than the others.
Mcshay is an idiot. Kiper is at least credible. Mayock is better than either. as GH said, Schefter is an insider, his job is to get the scoop, and find out who teams are taking. He wont get that info out of a team until they are on the clock however. going back to the video, good lord I wish those two got into that argument 3 feet from each other, there would definately have been punches thrown! hahah... ok well somebody would have gotten bitch slapped at least! :rofl::rofl::rofl: !!!
Schefter intercepts the pick before it reaches the podium and announces it on NFL Network... That may stop this year because he ruined all the hype of each pick. I remember an article last year where someone wasn't happy with it and may put an end to it... its tough to remember the exact place though
Plus Mayock called out B.J. Raji and Raji responded with the great showing at the Senior workouts(?). Raji said, "My agent called me and told me to wake up, Mayock is calling you out". U think Raji would've cared had Kiper or McShay thought he wasn't a top 10 pick?
Oh I know Adam Schefter isn't a scout...I was just saying he's much better on draft day. His information isn't just pure speculation.
I get that, I'm just saying all he is is someone that repeats what's told to him by teams. His info isn't speculation because all he does is repeat what other people say. He's not better or worse because they do different things. Its' not Kiper's job to get that info, it's his to give an opinion. There's no fun or drama in what Schefter does, which is why we listen to speculators like Mayock and Kiper. It's why we do mock drafts and look at 15 different sets of player rankings each day. To speculate.
Schefter is just an insider like Mort. BTW.....he's a Valley Stream native. I can't stand McShay.......is an arrogant SOB. I don't have as much hate for Kiper as some. I don't always agree with Kiper, but he's not an asshole like McShay. MeL Kiper had alot to do with the NFL draft being the "Big Show" it's become. Mayock is the best NFL Draft expert.....always enjoy his evaulations....he's very detailed. I don't like watching NFL network's coverage of the draft....I don't want to know the pick before the commish announces it....it takes out the drama.
I love Mel but agree with McShay. You can negotiate a little better with a non-QB. A rookie QB holds out and it screw up their whole first year. Plus if Smith can't play LT you can still try RT or even guard. A first round first pick QB bust can screw up a franchise for years.
Sadly Chris Berman and Stuart Scott both dont know when to shut the hell up about the picks and they say it pretty much right before the pick is in but they do it in a "guessing" sort of way in which they are hardly ever wrong. Biggest reason why I hate 3PM draft time: Impossible to dodge coverage when you do not want to be spoiled. Seriously, the first 4 picks were spoiled even before the draft began by Michael Smith. It was so god damn ridiculous.
and I loved the noon start too... wake up and get drunk while the picks are being made.... not drunk as its starting, its not as fun.
I do hate Berman, he's worn out his welcome...same old stupid one-liners. Stuart Scott isn't at Radio City. I enjoy parts of ESPN's and NFL Network's coverage of Draft Day. Schefter highjacking the picks is Bullshit. I heard it was going to stop because there were many complaints. ESPN also seems to have alot more commerical breaks than NFL Network. Mayock does a nice job and I really like Rich Eisen........sense a humor, but not an Ass like Berman. I will stay with NFL Network.....as long as they don't announce the 1st Rd picks before the Commish.
