Not sure how much this really means, but he says the credible sources within the organization say that the players hate Mangini. Mangini does not speak to players unless he yells at them and the players do not "know" the coach.
Mangini is driving all the players crazy.

THis is all good to me as long as we win...doesn't look like it to me...inside source in Jets camp "We better win" when speaking to players' feelings on Mangini.

Not sure if this is part of the Belicheck school of coaching, but doesn't sound like the youngest coach in the NFL knows how to be a people person. Not saying he needs to be Herm, but there should be some kind of happy medium...

This contradicts every other thing that I have heard about Mangini.

From what I have heard, the Players respect him and like him, but know he will crack down and be tough.

Who knows who to believe on any of this. But if Mangini is trying to be like Bellichick like everyone thinks, then why would he stray from the way Bellichick relates to players. Bledsoe and Milloy were among those who didn't buy in/get along, and they were gone before long.

I heard that Mangini regularly bounces his man boobs off player’s heads when they get out of line. That’s hardcore.

WFAN Talk show host. No one likes Parcells either, my friend. Mangini's simply not a players coach and he doesn't baby them like Herm obviously did. They probably don't "like" him because he's running a tough camp and realize how easy they had it with Herm.

The type of absolute speech 'the players hate Mangini' conveys sounds more like someone trying to get back at the CS through the media, I sincerely doubt that the entire team hates a HC that has had the job for less than a preseason. No one without an agenda speaks in such absolutes.

Did the players like Herm? Yes. Did Herm have any clue what he was doing? No.

I could care less if the players like Mangini, as long as they give 100% for him and respect and fear him. The way the NFL is now is that the coaches are more important then the individual players with some exceptions. Look at the consistent playoff teams, the Broncos, Pats, Steelers they have great coaches who probably aren't loved by their players, but they win so they are respected.

After 12 games or so, we'll see who's "buying in" and who isn't.. I'm not so sure Mangini's management style will result in wins or immediate improvement. I would imagine though that after this season, we'll not only know who bought into this new system, but who didn't and its a good chance they'll be gone before TC '07..

That flies in the face of other reports that said Mangini singled out a bunch of players that had impressed him with thir perfomances in team meeting after the Giants game. Maybe this guys name is blowhard? I generally like KB, but it sounds to me like he's off base on this one.

My spidey sense tells me Mangini is going to crash and burn the way Larry Brown did with Knicks. A football lockeroom is way different than a basketball and football coach has way more influence, but I would not be surprised if it happens. Mangini may know his X and Os but if there is something missing in the way he relates to his players that does not bode well. Mangini may be Bellichick as he was at the Browns instead of the Patriots.
No I not rooting for him to crash and burn.

true. Winning will always bring a team together, but losing is where you'll be tested. And we'll be doing some losing. After this season we'll know muh more than we do now.

God I hope this is true. Almost every great football coach was hated by his players until they retired.

He may be a backup HOST of a show, but he is the WFAN Jets beat reporter... I think it's BS too, but your reasoning is wrong.

What is the reasoning..hey Mangini is not their to be anyone's buddy, but to say players hate him is far fetched to say the least and who's the source??

I remember a previous tirade that burpheart made about how he was frustrated with manginis secrecy and vague answers to reporters questions... IMO unsubstantiated reporting by a frustrated beat reporter
