I would be very surprised if Yeboah ends up on the practice squad. He would have to clear waivers first, and there are too many TE needy teams in the NFL. Somebody will snatch him up with the hope he can be developed.
Agreed, Griffin had a nice run of a few games that he was able to cash-in on, getting that deal from Mac (somehow). Not knocking him as a player, but I don't think we miss him as much as we might the others.
Wesco has FB potential under Mike LaFleur. Griffin has got to go. Guy had like 20 catches for under 90 yards and 0 TDs last year.
That tweet above makes no sense. Heading into his 3rd year with only 5 career catches and 0 TDs? No thank you.
So the Bucs are rolling with Gronkowski, Howard and Brate. And the Jets are having Trevon Wesco as a big part of the offense long way to go before we compete
He doesn't seem to have the strength that classic FB's have--at least in my observations. He plays hard but barely moves a guy he hits straight on. He's the only guy in the role but don't know if that roll is a must-have.
We seem to be on the same page. I had the idea of Josh Adams play the role of H-back-- He's a big dude and can contribute on offense. I wish they had tried that this pre-season. Instead he's probably a cut with Wesco making the 53.
The fact that Wesco has survived on the same NFL roster up until this point is remarkable. The guy is hot trash. He doesn't block well, he's slower than Jace Amaro and he has meat hooks for hands. What does he do well? We can't find a better UDFA to play 18 snaps at full back a game that isn't as slight more coordinated than this guy?
I don’t know what the heck some of you are talking about regarding Wesco. The coaching staff loves him, they rave about him as a blocker.
The TE position doesn't make or break a Football team. Because there are only a handful of elite NFL TEs to begin with. Herndon/Kenny have untapped potential and under Mike LaFleur they can both emerge (as Herndon did as a rookie, before ADAM GASE). Chris Herndon's final 3 games were really good last yese too.
Agreed. Wesco offers nothing out of the backfield. Slower than muddy pond water on a cold November day. Not a good pass catcher. If you bring him onto the field the defense would be 100% sure its a power run play and that is not something you want to tip off
