He left yesterday with what seemed like a knee injury. I feel so bad for Ellis now, he's been improving and getting better but his progress keeps getting halted by injuries. We need Ellis to take that starting role before season's end so we can hopefully offload /trade Pou'ha's contract. Our D line was looking pretty rugged yesterday until he got hurt. Coples Wilk Ellis is the future of our line!

I tried searching for articles about his injury but can't find any. Anyone know his status or how long he's out for?

I was loving the in your face talk by Wilkerson and Coples yesterday. We have some BAD dudes on the defensive side of the ball. Shonn Greene was popping people early yesterday too. I can watch that all day long.

Besides getting bulldozed in the 'Niners game he's been pretty beast.

I thought Ellis would have been a bigger factor by now. Minus the injuries. I hope he turns it around and gets it going.
    Coples...I like.
Wilkerson.....I'm really starting to like alot. He's starting to seperate himself.

It sucks, We would be so much better with him rather then Pouha or Devito starting. It looks like he may miss a few games again

I guess...But Ellis has a better chance at getting sacks then the both of them, I don't hate Devito i just think he is replaceble

think getting rid of Devito would be a mistake. He needs to be in the rotation. Even if he isnt starting where are we going to find a rotation guy that stuffs the run like Devito? Devito is a trench warrior for sure.

Agreed. i hope we re-sign Devito in the offseason.
A team needs good solid role players like him, and i'm really enjoying his play this year.

Ellis would more replace Pouha's role in future..

I guess.......He would be great for depth. I just want us to have a guy at his posistion who can scared QB's and get 10 or more sacks. Tom Brady isn't losing sleep over Mike Devito

DeVito too fat and slow. Ellis possesses pretty good lateral movement for a dood of his size.

Devito is definitely an important part of our D-line (which is arguably the best thing about the Jets right now). Tannenbaum will probably let him go though so he can sign some scrub for $50k less.

you might be right. i hope not tho.
As most of the offeseason acquistions will be focused on offense, i really like the idea of re-signing Landry and Devito at reasonable contracts. similar money to what they currently make, not a ton guaranteed (especially Landry due to injury history).

I think the training staff just had his 50 pound leg brace on backwards. He should be fine.

Seriously, you have to realize the importance of depth on a team, and Devito is not good, but GREAT depth. He's reliable. You can't dump every player who isn't an all-star!

    Hahahahahahaha!

  20. If the Jets were say 6-4..we'd be seeing alot more of the youngsters up front. This group of Wilk,Coples,Ellis & Davis looks like a pretty good start in the front 7. The likes of Pouha,Devito,& Scott are still extremely useful..just on a situational part time basis. Pouha can give you about 15 plays w/ his back, Devito is too limited as a pass rusher & Scott is only good downhill. Jets should Let these impressive youngsters swarm the football
