Ken Lucas, corner back from the Carolina Panthers is rumored to be cut. He is a solid CB and i think he can help revis opposite side. Lucas is currently on the books for a $5.6 million base salary this year
Not really a game breaker but a decent #2 guy. I would still rather wait and see if someone better comes along.
still an upgrade to who they have....... unless the tall fast WR they need bad can play defense too :smile:
lucas would not be an upgrade over anybody. i live in charlotte nc and all my good buddies are diehard panthers fans. they HATE ken lucas, always getting beat, always out of position. i would hate to see the jets sign ken lucas. one of the two most knowledgable panthers fans i know, if given the option to cut lucas in the middle of the season would have been fine with that. i will sit there and watch a game with them and everytime a team makes a big play in the passing game immediately you here "fucking ken lucas piece of shit ken lucas fucking sucks we need to get him the hell out of charlotte, i hate ken lucas, blah blah blah" take it for what it's worth.
I actually was going to post something very similar. One of my best friends is from Charlotte and is a huge Panthers fan and he's not high on Lucas at all. We're better off staying away, despite our lack of depth at the position. We should try to sign someone younger and cheaper and then look for a quality CB in the draft.
I read that Rolle & McAlister will both be cut from the Ravens this off season they are both due like $4 mil. I think we will wind up with Scott, Leonard & either Rolle or McAlister.
McAlister is as good as gone. He gets beat deep too often these days, but he's been a remarkably solid CB and would be a good mentor for Lowery. I could see him coming here, hopefully at least alongside Scott.
