http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...da-state-wr-kelvin-benjamin-blows-off-workout "According to NFL Media analyst Gil Brandt, when an NFL coach recently went to work Benjamin out, the wideout told the coach "he was too tired" and blew off the workout." "One scout, after being told of the story of the blown-off workout, speculated that Benjamin's agent might have given him the advice, perhaps not wanting his client to work out for a team at the lower end of the first round because he might have heard he'll go higher. It's a decent theory considering the ACL-tear injury suffered by guard Brandon Thomas during a recent workout for the New Orleans Saints. Limiting workouts, especially ones deemed unnecessary by some, limits exposure to injury."
Can't blame him if he feels he will get drafted earlier. This is like guys like Manziel and Bridgewater working out for New England. Waste of time and the potential of being injured.
His agent must have advised him otherwise.. It was probably a team that was 27+ and not worth his time
What a schmuck... Hope his dumb ass drops to the 7th... You don't see Sammy Watkins not visiting the Lions cuz he thinks he is going Top 3... Benjamin is full of himself and thinks he is the shit and I can name 6 receivers better then him in this draft... Guy hasn't even made it into the league yet and is blowing off workouts.
Calm down man. You don't know any details of this and you don't know that his agent advised him not to.
I am plenty calm but this dude's head is big as hell... You ain't in the league yet... You fucking workout for every team that asks you to. His agent just cost him millions of dollars.
Not wanting to work out after what happened to Brandon Thomas is one thing, but using the excuse that you're "too tired" is not the best excuse. Ironically enough maybe that pushes him down to the end of the first round or 2nd.
Yeah ... I don't care what team comes calling ... you work out for everyone unless your injured. You nor your agent has any idea what a team will do, INCLUDING possibly trading up for your unproven ass. Draft order has ZERO to do with anything - simply because if a team loves you enough - they could attempt to trade into a position to draft you. And what if you don't get picked where you feel you should? Now that team at the lower end of the first might just say screw it - and go in a different direction. It simply makes no sense.
It'd be funny if he's still sitting in the green room and the team he blew off called him on his cell phone just to tell him they weren't drafting him.
