great footage...with a new ramped-up o-line...hopefully KC can make plays similar to that flea flicker in 2008 for the Green/White. I'm not even sure Penny could kick a ball that far...let alone make that throw.
Great pass protection there. He could have started a camp fire in the pocket.
same as the flicker to Coles, but the footwork was correct in that play and not with the Jets. He stepped and threw like I've seen the top QBs do on that play. The play to Coles he didn't step into the throw. He looks like that more often, and he will be the one to lead this team places.
Agreed. I'm thinking Clemens will have more time to execute his throws with the proper mechanics a lot more effectively this year...because he won't have to worry about having his head takin' off on every snap...like last season. Clemens should be able to make most of his reads if not all of them with a stout o-line in front of him. I'm really anticipating the improvement in our O-line this year....
That's a great throw. Impeccable accuracy, right over the inside shoulder of the receiver. That's what happens when the QB has time to throw.
Doesent suprise me there we all know Clemens has a Strong Arm and the accuracy on that Pass was great. Hopefully he does that too Coles and Cotch this season.
If the OL gives him some time, he will be a great QB for us. He'll only be better with a upgrade in our running game.
Wow, very similar to the one he threw against the Steelers. If he would have stepped into that one Coles would have run under it in the endzone. That college throw was from his 24 yardline and landed up on the 10 and the NFL throw was from his own 35 yardline and landed up on the 15. He definitely pulled up short on that one. He is stronger now and if he can get his throws under control and if his recievers do their part this offense can be very versitile and score when they need to. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d804508f6
Slow news day? It's a flea-flicker, I saw Ryan Leaf throw some pretty passes in college too. I still think he's going to be a bust. You don't go from looking like Bugs Bunny in the pocket to having great pocket presence. His happy-feet last season were the worst I've seen, with the exception of David Carr.
Yea um...healthy Chad Pennington = Really good QB. It's crazy how some people seem to act like Pennington was never a good QB...dude was a damn good QB until he suffered an injury (twice) that no one QB has ever come back from (once).
+1, can't forget what Chad was and had done. When we speak in terms of now- those who see and analyze know he doesn't have much left. Such is the career of a football player. Chad stepped into that throw like I've never seen him do. Now he does his short bunny hop, keeps the leg stiff and throws with almost nothing but arm. Legs have a lot to do with velocity as well - Vinny T's cannon arm power also came from his legs, ask him. In conclusion, if proper mechanics are maintained, and injury is not sustained- you can ultimately be a strong thrower. Accuracy and intangibles is an argument for a different day.
Chad played decent enough 2 years ago when he was for the most part injury free. Last year he had a high ankle sprain. He really is held together with rubber band though. When healthy he's got a shot, although he's had only 2 injury free season.
