With so many needs on this team, regardless of how the first 3 picks go we can get a very solid player at #4. There is no need to trade up to get a specific player. Trading down for more picks sounds nice, but then you do miss out on one of the top 4 athletes in the country.

What are our immediate pressing needs? At a minimum, I think you have to say OL, QB, LB, DT, CB and possibly DE - we have a few talented D ends now, not at the level of Abe but IMO, servicable for now.

So who might be available at #4?
    Lienhart (not likely but possible)
    Young
    Fergeson
    Hawk
    Williams

No matter what one of these guys will be there at #4, we should take whomever we think is the best available at that point.

As far as the QB's go, we could debate on and on about who's going to have the better NFL career if any - IMO both have tremendous potential. The draft is like a box a chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. As far as Ramsey goes, I'm not sold though I know some of you see him as the answer.

We have a good number of picks right now, with at least 1 more coming in comp picks. It's not often you get a pick this high in the draft, keep it and take one of the best college football players available in a very strong pool.

    First off, welcome to TGG..

Second, great post. I agree 100%
I have been saying all along having 2 picks, one of them #4, is way better than moving up a couple of spots...

I would LOVE to trade down! How would you like the Jets to have 4 of the top 35 picks? I'd rather have 4 of the top 35 than the 3 we presently have.

What could we address with 4 of the top 35 picks? In no particular order...

    1 - Oline
    2 - Dline
    3 - LB
    4 - RB

What if we drafted one of each among the first 34 picks? Sounds good to me!

    ok

I wouldn't be totally opposed to that but
    1) Who is going to be able to give us 2 first rounders for our 4th? I'm ignorant on this one if there is someone.
    2) I still think getting one of the top 4 college players has tremendous value, IMO - more than 2 out of the top 35.
    3) I really liked what I saw from Cedric Houston last season - it seems like a lot of people seem to have missed that?? I really don't think we need RB.

Here is my idea. Sacrifice the extra first rounder this year. The 29 we got from Denver. Trade it to a lower-end ballclub (one with less than 8 wins last year) for their #1 next year, or their second rounder this year and next year. (Even if we have to throw in an extra 6th or 7th rounder.)

We have Ramsey, Penny, and Bolly already. Maybe one of them is the answer. Give the 3 of them a year to show whether they can perform or not. If not, with that extra pick next year, we trade up to #1, and grab Quinn. Problem solved.

If one or more performs, then we have another great pick next to use in any way we might need then.

I see two teams who could trade for the #4

    Denver #15 and #22

And the Vikings #17 #48 and #51 (from Miami)

I know Denver whould link up with the value chart but I am not so sure about the vikings

No, you trade down, no doubt about it. There is no one we really need at number 4. Ferguson would be a wasted pick and we don't need to go defense. Trade down around 7-10 area and pickup DeAngelo Williams.
