Prediction: After this season is in the books and the Chiefs have filed their 5-11 record, Herm will fire Mike Solari, and that will buy him another year with Chiefs fans much in the way firing Cotrell did with Jets fans. I remember posting last year a handful of quotes where Herm had already thrown Solari under the bus. Given the choice between accepting blame for poor offensive production or firing a coordinator, history tells us where Herm falls.

    that's odd, jack.

5-11 is EXACTLY the record I've been predicting for KC since the season started.

Should Herm ever be a HC again? I don't really know what the public perception of Herm is. He talks a good talk and that is generally what sells. Glad to be rid of him.

Coincidence, but good call. I hate to say this, but I can even safely predict a split with the. . .ugh. . .Raiders.

I've been saying Oakland has a solid chance of finishing in 3rd place, because of KC.

Yeah, I think they'll split, with each team winning the home game.

Why would he need to buy another year? His job is secure. he improved them a year ago then in an effort toget younger they have a very different team this year, they knew they would stink this year. They are rebuilding.

Nobody's job is ever secure when you lose.

Because mediocrity makes most fans weary. They went from 10-6 under Vermeil (and missing the playoffs) to 9-7 under Herm (backing into the playoffs) to a woeful start to 2007 (igniting a player uprising). And, I'm just talking about wins and losses; not even considering the cartoony Herman performances on HBO for all the world to see.

Sure, that's if Herm isn't fired first.

They hadn't been to the postseason in 3 years prior to Herm. yeah they won 10 in '05 but in the final week they Cincy who had clnched their div and played their backups so really they won 9.

Herm "backed in" again? How do you back in when you win? His team won the games they eeded to win including beating the team we lost to 41-0 in the final week.

They are off to a "woeful start" in 2007? They have the same record as us, is Mangini in trouble?

I love how Herm talks about running the ball and keeping the game close, but doesn't know how to manage the game when it is close in the 4th quarter.

He's a horrible coach when he has the talent he has. The thing about Herm is he's never going to coach up a team and overachieve. He needs a roster full of stars.

Kansas City is a horrible franchise. They spent the off season ignoring offensive line and defensive needs and shelled out a ton of money for a 28 year old running back coming off a career high for carries and a 30 plus tight end who probably has two seasons left. They have corners who haven't played at a Pro Bowl level in years. Big contracts to retain older players are only acceptable when you are close to winning a championship. They're not.

I doubt Herm is back if they win fewer than 6 games. That's a hard sell to the fan base.

Now you go on and tell me what difference it makes if your bus is going forward or backward? Are you on the bus? That is all you need to be worried about. The bus could do cartwheels and if you are on it, it's all good. They back into the playoffs so that the car is parked strategically to roll out after the game... gotta be ready to roll! :breakdance:
