Filed to ESPN: Miami reached agreement with linebacker Karlos Dansby on a 5-year, $43 million deal, including $22 million guaranteed

i would think he'd even consider going to NY Giants since giants need more lb then them

Big pickup by them. He's a very versatile player. They still have work to do on that side of the ball though.

They also officially cut Joey Porter and Akin Ayodele.

They need help all over their defense. Dansby alone is not going to elevate their D.

Who's going to play NT for them? Turd Ferguson is ancient and coming off a torn quad.

We still got some work to do. But Dansby, and even more importantly bringing in Mike Nolan for DC have been some huge gets.

If he falls to 12, I'm will to bet he does not fall past it.

They still have a shitty receiving corps and a running back that's made of glass.

Dansby is certainly a good pick up, but he won't make them that much better.

No one even halfway decent at receiver is available in free agency. ...don't get your hopes up.

They could always sign Marshall. Given our secondary, I might hope for Marshall in Miami rather than see them use that first rounder on a quality talent that's harder for us to shut down. Of course, I'd prefer they just fuck the pick up.

We have the best corner in the game. Every WR in the league is easy for us to shut down if Revis is covering him.

Cromartie is only going to make our secondary better.

No no. I meant I might rather see them lose their first rounder to Marshall than use it to draft a talented player at another position. I'm well aware that every WR is easy for us to shut down. I'd rather see the 1st used to bring in a receiver than used to draft, say, Dan Williams.

Its a great signing for the Fins. It does make us better immediately. I love how you guys just hate on every move the Fins make and when you sign ANY player its the "magical piece" that is going to vault you into the NFL's new power dynasty. LOL!

Bottom line is after one day of free agency the Fins addressed a major need. There is still a lot of offseason to go. More Free Agents and the draft will bring more talent. All of this with a new Defensive Coordinator sounds like a very competitive division. Remember you had your hands full with us last year without Dansby.

    Dont underestimate the Tuna.

I see them giving either Coles or T.O. a shot.

It's a great pick up by the Phins. I'd love to see the Phins pick up someone like Brandon Graham or Jared Odrick and maybe pick up Terrell Troup later to play NT. Time for Dolphins to seriously beef up their defense.

Their LB's were about the worst in the league looking at all the 3-4 teams. I mean really awful, especially their ILB'sm who were one rung up from suck. This is a good pickup for them.

^and they are not done with that defense either. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that they are targeting McClain/Spikes, Williams/Cody, or Graham in the first round. Hopefully they take someone like Hughes who could be a decent rush OLB but would be playing out of position and frustrate the Hell out of them. I really don't see Parcells picking up a scrub in the first(draft Mays, PLEASE DRAFT MAYS!!!!)
