I pride myself in being one of the more level-headed posters on this board, but after tonight's game there are just some things that need to be said - some good, some not so good. In no particular order: 1.) Kyle Wilson - He was absolutely atrocious tonight. Ok, ok - I REALIZE that it was his first NFL regular season game, but at this point I wouldn't task him with covering his own shadow. I'm not necessarily saying he's practice squad material either, but I think Lowery should be the crystal clear #3 CB right now. 2.) Shaun Ellis - DE was a position we all thought would be a weak link this year, but here's a guy who at 33 can still play at an elite level. He was an absolute animal tonight. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him post another 6-7 sack year. 3.) Bart Scott & David Harris - Without a doubt the best ILB tandem in the NFL. They were flying tonight and will be a force to be reckoned with this year. 4.) D'Brickashaw Ferguson - Did all of those new found dollar signs get in the way of his fundamentals? This guy probably was probably easily responsible for 25% of our offensive penalties. 5.) Brian Schottenheimer - I'm not going to lie...I have a love/hate relationship with Schotty. There are games where he amazes me, and then there are games like tonight that make me wonder how the hell he manages to keep an NFL coaching job. It just seems like at times he tries to get so cute that he outsmarts himself. 6.) Dustin Keller - Nothing more needs to be said here. 7.) Rex Ryan - Don't get me wrong - I LOVE the culture and swagger that Rex has brought to this team, but enough is enough. The jawing is growing old. Produce on the field - that's all the fans care about. 8.) The New Meadowlands Stadium - Extremely underwhelming in my opinion. I guess the 8,000 TV's near the concession lines are kinda cool. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I just think for $1.6B the new stadium would be alot more...I don't know..."wow"? That's about it for now, heading to bed. I'll be interested to hear everyone's thoughts on these points in the morning.
My thought is that that red font hurt my eyes, but unfortunately it can't be edited until the morning when you read this.
