The Raiders choke job today still keeps us as the 6th seed. We win the tiebreaker vs. Cincinnati based on common games (Baltimore, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Denver. We're 3-2 whereas they're 2-2.) We need Baltimore to play for HFA and beat Cincinnati on the last week. Raiders play KC and SD.

Yeah, beause this team has convinced me it can beat the Giants and Miami and then contend with playoff teams. I understand desperate hope, but this team fucking blows.

We beat one team with a winning record all year (Dallas). All we needed to do before todays game was win out and we shit the bed again, this time against a 5-8 team.

After 2 straight AFC title games, the bar has been raised. Just making the playoffs doesn't cut it. Does anybody not looking through green colored glasses really see this team beating Baltimore, Pittsburgh or NE?

Who cares if we get in and go out early?

Giants have been fucking sucking. Dolphins worries me more, but we beat the crap out of them last time, so that's something to be optimistic about.

You're right, no football team has ever played well against two mediocre teams in a row after losing really badly. It's just unheard of.

All I know is that the Jets better win. The last thing I want is to have the Giants or Dolphins end our season. Nothing could be worse.

    My understanding is this:

    We have a WIN-AND-IN scenario

    UNLESS

The Bengals GAIN a relative +9 in strength of victory points against us in the final 2 games.

Why is everyone saying we need to win out? If we lose to the NYG and beat Miami we are 9-7. Cinci loses to Balt they are 9-7. Tenn loses 1 of 2 to Jax or Houston and they are 8-8 and WE get in.

Don't sleep on Arizona vs. Cincinnati too.

ENOUGH with the scenarios if the Jets lose. If they lose to the Giants at home or Dolphins, they obviously don't belong in the postseason. The Bengals, Titans and Raiders do not either, but still.

I believe the only loss that matters is the conference loss, which would need to be Balt.

Yeah, but I can definitely see the Bengals losing both. Which brings in the Raiders as a threat, as they play KC and SD

Well if we lose again, we need Oakland to lose again or denver to to lose twice.
9-7 means we need a lot more breaks than we already have gotten. That is why most think we need to win out. Mathematically, yes we can get in at 9-7, but if we win out we do not need to rely on other teams losing again

I think OAK is in play if they win out since they have the head to head vs us and they would be 9-7.
