Miami is 3-2 with there only losses coming to the jets and NE (2-0) outside of division NE is 4-1 with their only loss against the jets (2-0) outside of division Jets are 5-1 (2-1) outside of division So the 3 teams combined are 5-1 outside of the division with the 1 loss the 1 point loss the jets suffered against the ravens that is unbelievable!
AFC East and North are definitely the best divisions in football Should be 4 playoff teams between them. Those are pretty cool stats though Makes it even better to be leading the best division, and 3-0 against them.
Should be an interesting fight over the second wild card. You would think the Steelers/Ravens have one locked down.
There should be but you also wonder if these teams are going to just clobber each other so that a team from another division sneaks in with a better record (Texans perhaps?).
I thought the Packers were going to beat the fish. The Pack is probably the best team in their division, and could not beat the third best team in the AFC East. wow.
If you only count the top three teams in a division then the AFCE is the best division. The problem with that scenario is that the Bills are in the division. The AFCS has the most overall wins right now, at least partially due to a lack of byes. The worst team in the division(Jax) is the third best performer in most other divisions. The NFCE has a couple of solid teams in NY and Phi with the worst (Dal) much better than most division's worst. All that said, for playoff seeding today we are looking at: 1 - NYJ (E) 2 - Pitt (N) 3 - Hou (S) 4 - KC (W) 5 - NE (E) 6 - Bal (N) In the NFC 1 - NYG 2 - Atl 3 - Chi 4 - Ari 5 - NO 6 - Phi
Not counting the Bills, the AFC-E is absolutely scary right now. Even the Dolphins are waaaay better than their 3-2 record. Compare them to some other 3-2 teams (KC, Seattle, Tampa, etc) and its clear to see that we have 3 amazing teams in our division. And honestly, to me, knowing that the AFC-E is so stacked makes being on top of it even sweeter!
but to be honest, the pack vs. us is a game where I could easily see them somehow pulling it off and making up the ground they lost against Miami in an unexpected win vs. us at the new meadowlands. That's how this NFL works.
Fans like players get a bye week, too. Heh. I got a combo golf outing campout chain saw boozefest coming up this weekend, so I get to focus on that free of worrying about the Jets this weekend. But yeah, the Pack concerns me a great deal despite, or maybe even because, of losing to the fish. If NE wins this weekend the Jets could fall behind NE the following week. Gotta beat a tough team in GB. But I will really worry about that next week.
It sucks to be in the AFC I would say. The NFC would be SO MUCH easier. I know Week 6 just ended, but I believe ALL 6 spots could already be locked up in the AFC because the teams are just too good: 1. Jets 2. Steelers 3. Colts 4. WEST WINNER 5. Patriots 6. Ravens Pretty Good teams like Houston, Tennessee, Miami, etc have such a tough road.
The AFC is clearly superior. Not 1 team in the NFC looks like a dominant team. the AFC has 4 in NE, NYJ, Pitt, balt. Hell i'd even take maimi over almost any NFC team
If Green Bay had Finley and/or Clay Matthews, they would have probably beaten Miami. Packers are a really good team with a lot of talent. They just couldn't get any pass rush whatsoever. Miami was chasing Rodgers around all day, he didn't really have anyone to throw to, especially when hurried.
You all have a GREAT division this year! I can't wait for our matchup in December. THIS will be the AFC Championship In my opinion! Probably us winning of course :metal:
Frankly, I don't think that the AFC East is quite as good as it seems on paper. To me, the Dolphins haven't looked like a serious title contender, and the Pats don't have the kind of defense that will carry them deep into the playoffs. Even the Jets have been very beatable (though to their credit, they've pulled out 3 close wins since the Baltimore debacle.) It's the best division in football, but that doesn't say all that much. There are no truly elite teams at this point in the season.
