First time visiting Green Bay. All of the fans are super nice and helpful. We got a ridiculous hook-up and sat in Clay Matthews' seats on the 50 yard line for the first half. Clay paid for the tickets as well...pretty cool. Second half, we sat in Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix's seats which were row 3 40 yard line (the vantage point from Clay's was far superior) Interesting tidbit. Their are two sets of Lombardi trophies on display. One set is in the Green Bay hall of fame (visitors can see them during the tour) and the other set is in the player's building. I saw the set in the players building. I wonder which set is the real set...anyone know? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah basically. My finance's co-worker is a native. They got to talking one day and they made it all happen. As for the seats -- the other co-worker of theirs has a cousin who is a sports agent (don't want to cite details but he has high-high profile current NFL clients). He got us the connect We had the full Wisconsin experience -- cheese curds, brats, beer and Packers. So many quirky things about Lambeau Field. First, I had no idea the stadium was bleachers only. You have to get foam pads to sit on in the winter because your ass freezes off. The parking lot is basically non-existent. You literally tailgate in the lots of businesses. We were in a Holiday inn parking lot for example. Minimal stadium distractions. There are no displays of scores of other games. Very limited sky boxes. Basically the stadium is very much so OG.
We had 2 Dallas fans with us. You would not believe how nice the GB fans were to everyone. It's the polar opposite from Jets/Giants fans in relation to rival fan bases.
That's what my one friend who went last year. He said the experience was indescribable. It is a, you have to be there to really understand it type of experience.
I kept flashing my Jets shirt and got chuckled at several times. They didn't even bother joking with me. It was hilarious.
I've been to roughly 7-8 packer games, and the only loss was the 1 I wanted them to lose, a loss to Penny and the Jets! It was awesome. My best friend surprised me with the tickets, even tho he used his per cap to get them haha.
3 posts in a row I know, but this thread is about where I live, so as the resident WI Jets fan, I reserve that right. Not to sound bitter, but why did nobody tag me in this thread?... It's hilarious OP you didn't know about the bleachers. To me it's so whatever because it's all I've ever known. I do find it funny when people hate Packer fans. Packer fans are typically very nice, and respectful, even to division rival fans. Yeah parking is weird. Usually I park at K-mart. It's only like a 3 block walk, and spots are always available. Parking in the back roads by peoples houses can be a bitch, far away, bad traffic getting out, crazy prices from home owners, etc. Whenever events are held at the Resch Center, you park at Lambeau, and just walk across the street to said event. It's great.
was fortunate enough to head there last year for the Jets game. spent a couple days in Milwaukee first before driving up to Green Bay. amazing experience, quite possibly the friendliest people i've ever met, and Lambeau was a unique almost college like atmosphere. they are diehards for their Packers, and the town is a party all weekend long. i try to hit a road game a year (heading to Dallas on Wednesday), and can't recommend Lambeau enough..
Next time, take me with you GQ. What kind of a Madison guy are you? Not acceptable. Kidding. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Pics are awesome.
Oh. I forgot the best photo. That guy has balls of steel. That house is in Sheboygan, WI. Heart of GB territory. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
People from Wisconsin that I've met have been really nice, pretty much 100% of the time. It's weird. However, most Packer fans in the New York area are bandwagon fans who have nothing to do with Wisconsin other than watching the Packers on TV. Same with most Steelers and Cowboys fans; they've never been to a game and never will. Whereas most Jets fans, I'd say +90%, have been to at least one Jets home game in their lifetime. I think they're more genuine "stick with my team and not switch loyalties" type fans, and that's one of the nice things about the fanbase.
