When was the last time Jets fans on this board and elsewhere were happy with the Jets offensive coordinator? Because I can't remember it. I kind of feel like attacking the OC is a crutch used by fans so the angry mob has someone to blame. If a play fails, it's because it's the wrong call!

Now, Schottenheimer made some mistakes today, no question, but he's leading an offense that should be, considering the personnel, doing a lot worse than it is. Because he wants to pass a little more often than you'd like (and by the way, it's not like he doesn't know football--he was raised on the game, and there's a reason he's getting head coach buzz), he should be fired?

I see some calls for the QB coach to call the plays. How long do you think it'll take for him to get killed on this board? A dozen plays? And while you're answering that, I again ask who the last offensive coordinator was that Jets fans liked. Schottenheimer is no Hackett.

Dan Henning was a phenomenal offensive coordinator.

I especially like the two point conversion attempts that kept you from going for a tie late in the game. That was cool!

    Overtime is over-rated. LOL!

Let's not forget that your coach became the first coach in history to go for 2 with an 11 point lead. You are in no position to mock other coaches for 2pt decisions. Also, if you feel the need to join a message board and post mocking comments because you don't have any friends to talk football with, maybe you should reevaluate things. No, really.

what did dan henning do down a td with a young qb at the end of the game??

    1st and 4 at NYJ 4 Direct snap to 23 - R. Brown. (Shotgun) R.Brown left end to NYJ 2 for 2 yards (K.Rhodes).
2nd and 2 at NYJ 2 C.Henne pass incomplete short left to A.Fasano.
    3rd and 2 at NYJ 2 Direct snap to 23 - R. Brown. (Shotgun) R.Brown right guard for 2 yards, TOUCHDOWN. 27 30

And we thought henning was bad. Shotty is worse

    Bwahah nice.

As far as yer post goes... what recent OCs should we have been happy with? Hackett? Heimerdinger? I mean, how long do I have to watch other teams' OCs - with personnel of equal talent - draw upon good plans with good plays?

In the first 3 weeks I recall a number of 'Shotty is a genius' posts.

Dan Henning is an offensive mastermind, i wish the NY Jets still had him. I was all for him signing as headcoach, even though that had no chance of happening

I liked charlie Weiss too, as well as Henning when he was here with Vinnie. I think Schotty gets a bum rap the last few weeks because of horrible execution (have said that publicly). It was the 1st half play-calling this game I didn't like (too conservative when it was clear our defense was playing well), as well as the final 4x play calls. The decisions to go for 2 were bad decisions as well, based on time remaining and the fact that we don't have a "go to" play with audible to allow a quick set-up and short count. Wasting TO and getting all cute for a corner fade reeked of Paul Hackett. 2/6 from the 9? you've got 3 plays and what, 1:40 left in the game? Could/ should have run on 2nd in that situation and in 3rd too if necessary. Miami was doing all they could with their TOs to keep us from panicking. What about a damn screen or bunch formation? Frustrating.

That's my point. When things are bad, he's in the position to be blamed. Is he Bill Walsh? No. But he's fine. We lost this game because of poor special teams; that final drive didn't have perfect playcalling but Schotty didn't make any of those throws.

More like Heimerdinger got a free pass because of all the injuries in 05.

I assume your overlooking my point means you acknowledge your lack of a life.

You probably won't respond to this either; you'll be banned by then.

The thing I hate about Schotty is he is inconsistent and at times get cute to the point of puking at the worst possible time. He'd have a great called game until he has a completely boneheaded quarter that will almost cost us a game.

That is your response after getting pwned? How old are you really?

BTW, you've about entered trolling territory? Feeling proud? Get ready for the ban hammer.

I would like to see Callahan run the offense Shotty might be Shitty pissed because he didn't get the HC gig and I remember a comment about last season that raises flags. Callahan took the Raiders to the SuperBowl his first year as a HC the year before that they were in the Playoffs when he was OC. Shotty might be better off as a college coach.:shit:

But did you see the playcall on the first 2-point attempt?
