Everyone has their own mocks, rumor mills, and scenarios. I'm installing my new corner which I will call "Just for Shits-N-Giggles" (Patent Pending). Here, I will propose scenarios and all that other stuff. So, here goes...

    1. J. Long (OT) - Dolphins
    2. G. Dorsey (DT) - Rams
    3. M. Ryan (QB) - Falcons
    4. V. Gholston (DE) - Raiders -> For some, it's a possibility, for others, remember...just for Shits-N-Giggles
    5. B. Albert (G) - Chiefs
    6. ???????? - Jets

...okay, so everyone on here is thinking Chris Long is a Mangini guy. The player with the non-stop motor, son of Howie Long, good addition to the 3-4, only player worth the $, only player worth moving up for, blah, blah, blah, etc.

So, here we are, looking at Chris Long and BOOM! The Cowboys come calling for DMC and offering their 2-1st rounders. No more, no less. I know it seems easier to move down, but given how everyone on here has put Long on a pedestal as arguably the best DE/OLB prospect in his position on this Draft do we take him? Or do we move down?

    Scrap.

If the Cowboys offer their two first rounders, their 2009 first rounder, Demarcus Ware, our resurrected lord and savior Jesus Christ and ownership rights to their new stadium, then... i guess...

Naw, fuck it. We still take Chris Long at 6.

Tough situation. Do you either give the Pats Chris Long or 2 draft picks. I say take the draft picks and look to move back up (higher) into the 1st for Mendenhall? Merling? Rivers?

Ouch. Thinking of it from that perspective I actually hope Long OR McFadden go before our pick... should make it a very easy decision.

Long, no questions asked, he will be a great player in this leauge and we do not want the Pats to have him

This probably wouldn't happen anyway, because Long wouldn't get past the Chiefs at 5 with Allen gone.

In the Shits-N-Giggles thread anything can happen (so as long as I propose it of course).

But, to go with your point, the Chiefs need help on both lines. Yes, that move makes sense for the Chiefs, taking C. Long rather than Albert or reaching for Clady or Otah (the next best tackles) but considering how the Ravens (8), Broncos (12), Panthers (13) and Bears (14) are in need of an OT and how the Vikings were projected to take DE Derrick Harvey with the 17th pick, I don't think it's that unconceivable for them to go OL rather than DE with their 1st pick.

After all, they didn't want to pay a shitload of money to Allen, so why take a DE with their 1st early pick and give him...a shitload of money...especially being an unproven rookie?

Good point, especially now that the Chiefs have #17 as well, they can get their OL down there and still take a DE at 5

I really hope Clady cracks the top 5, that would make my day in regards to our choices, with Harvey being available in the late teens it is a definate possibility. If I were the Chiefs Clady/Harvey looks better than Long or Gholston/Baker

Clady being taken at 5 would surely open up some possibilities for us. Chris Long and McFadden would still be on the board hypothetically, and the phone would be ringing for both players, I figure. I say let's fleece someone, go down about 10 spots, get Stewart and hopefully a DE at the bottom of the 1st/top of the 2nd with the extra pick, plus a WR in round 2

    That's an easy decision.

You take Long, end of story!

I really think if McFadden is on the board at 6 we are taking him no matter who else is available.

It makes no sense to think that the Chiefs would trade a known quantity in Allen (young pro bowl DE) to pay as much or more for an unknown rookie they draft...

I think it is being so overdone that it is a smokescreen to a certain degree, I think that if Gholston and Long are gone than he is our guy, but the amounts of meetings and all the media attention is really be played on a large scale. For the management to be doing this much at the number 6 pick, which is absolutely no guarantee he will be there it is a bit crazy, I actually think the Jets have been more involved with McFadden than The Phins with Long

McFadden. No question. He is the absolute best player and you can't let him go to the pats. I would love chris long, but would much rather have mcfadden. I'm not nearly as concerned facing the pats with chris long than i am with facing the pats with mcfadden.

My thoughts exactly. Even if they didn't pounce on Long, I'm positive they'd trade down 2 spots with the Pats, pick up an extra pick, and still get to draft Albert.
