The 49'ers have signed Josh Rosen off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Practise squad after Nick Mullins was injured on Sunday https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/arti...dium=email&mb_edition=20201223&mb_loc=right_h Perhaps Sam's draft class of Q/B's wasn't that good after all., apart from Josh Allen.
There’s still a QB in there somewhere. It will need a good HC to fix his sulky, narcissistic demeanour. Otherwise he’s probably got another 2-3 years as a QB3 before joining the Canadian league.
why did this kid fail so miserably? anyone know?....Can he not read a defense to save his life? or does his arm suck? Is he not accurate??? I thought that coming out of UCLA, everyone agreed he had a good arm, was really smart and very accurate. What happened to him?
He’s not been given a true chance yet... the one year with the cardinals that team was really bad HC fired after only one season and the new coach wanted Murray the Dolphins first 8 weeks of last season were terrible...they were trying to tank ..Also throw in the fact that some don’t like this attitude.. supposed to be outspoken a bit... he’s got a good arm but he’s not mobile
I was way off the mark with him. He seemed like the safest prospect in that class with a fairly high ceiling, but is now on his 4th team? The concerns over his passion for the game were justified.
Aside from the mental stuff, pure pocket passers rarely succeed in the NFL anymore. An exception is if they have elite accuracy and a super-quick release, but Rosen doesn't have even that.
so what's the rap on Rosen mentally? Lazy? Doesn't really care about anything, a la "smoking" Jay Cutler?
Already rich as fuck apparently but then you would think you would be more in to it playing for fun as opposed to a career making money. It certainly must be something.
Maybe it's just the Peter Principle at work, and he's reached his level of incompetence. I think that if there hadn't been all the hype about the Darnold/Rosen/Mayfield/Allen class of QBs he'd be just another first round QB who didn't make it, albeit a little more quickly than most. It's a short trip from being famous to being notorious, and that is what has happened to him.
This isn't likely to work out for the 49ers. If you want to be good in the NFL you have to have the mentality that nothing matters but football. If you want to be great you have to have that mentality and also work on your game 16/7, at least until you have made that happen. Rosen isn't lazy but he is definitely not driven to be a great football player and without that his chances of success are very low. Oops... (didn't see thread date) I would not sign him if I was the Jets. He's a distraction on his way to being a partner at Goldman Sachs after a decade of finding out how hard most people have to work to do that.
I'll admit.... I was wrong on this kid. Watching his mechanics I had visions of of bombs hitting dudes in stride and lasers from the pocket..... oops
Imagine if we drafted him! Would b misery right about now. At least we got 2nd for Darnold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
