Is it just me or does anyone else think picking up Josh McDaniels as Head Coach next season would be a good idea? I know it's way too early to give up on the Bowles Era and would love to give him a shot to be a great HC but I think passing up on McDaniels would be a mistake if we had the opportunity. He's going to be a hot commodity at the end of the season with a lot of teams knocking on his door. I believe he has learned from his time in Denver on how to be a better HC and a plus is that he knows New England inside and out and gives us a great chance to knock them off their throne next year. Hopefully he could help us develop a franchise QB and turn around this franchise for the good. I think this franchise needs a offensive minded HC finally. Disclaimer:This is just an idea, I'm torn on keeping Bowles and would love to give him a chance. Please don't chew my head off if this has been posted before. I barely post on here and wanted to get a idea of what the rest of Jets Nation is thinking.....
I've always liked him as a coach...sign me up Bowles with the punting today was the final nail in the coffin for me Pussy coaches never win big...especially when they're clueless too
Things are bad right now but successful franchises aren't built by ejecting the second things get bad. Jets are facing serious adversity. Let's at least see how it's handled over the full season before deciding that Bowles is a total waste. Still a long way to go.
If we were doing things correctly but just losing to better teams that would be one thing but Bowles has been awful this season all around Woody should just clean house now instead of wasting time with these frauds Macc is still no closer to landing us a halfway decent QB he can GTFO too for all I care.....paying this shithead 12 million for this garbage QB play is embarrassing
This thread is laughable. you dont go to a hated divison rival unless you have no choice. He is not in the position where he is desperate to be a head coach. My guess is he is going to indy.
With the history of Mangini, et al, there's ZERO chance MacD wants the job & Jets offer one. Bowles has had his share of critics but to get rid of him would be a mistake (for Jets fans, good for Pats fans).
Well. Our last NE hire worked out pretty well! Ha Ha. No seriously, no idea if he would even take the job. The Pats have been pretty gun ho about making sure their personnel don't even interview with us. Sadly, there are never a ton of desirable head coaching candidates around at either the NFL and CFB level. And if we jettison Bowles this year, me might not get the time of day. But man, the coaching has been shitty.
He proved he couldn't coach in Denver or wherever it was. Just another good coordinator who for that reason alone people think they would make a good head coach.
We just got rid of the other head coach that thought Tebow was ready to hit the field as an NFL QB. I get the temptation to look to NE for the next big prospect at just about any position or title in the game. But imo, the reason no one has been able to duplicate the Patriots recipe for success is that the secret ingredient is literally Bill Belichick's own brain! This is not to say we should disregard any prospect from their camp, but I will say it would be highly unlikely that their system could be successfully replicated without BB being heavily involved. And with the history of our organizations, it's a pretty sure bet that anyone leaving NE for the Jets is soundly cut off from anymore mentoring or game planning advice.
