Were currently deep on DL so we were hiding this guy on the PS. Steeler made him an offer and he accepted. Kind of sucks because he was a good replacement for Solomon Thomas next year. Good luck to him.

Geez--hate to lose him but NYJ preferred Tanzel so that's the cost.

That's too bad. Was hoping he might grow into a bigger role next year. Another example of the depth and talent JD has assembled as teams have been plucking Jets waivers and practice squad guys

How does that work? Pittsburgh signs him to their 53-man roster? Did the Jets get a chance to do the same? or is every practice squad player free game? That part confuses me.

Teams can sign player from another teams PS, but when they do they have to be on their active roster for a specified amount of time. I think its 3 weeks?

This was a bad day to buy a Jonathon Marshall jersey.

You are probably right, but I swore I read somewhere (probably from this forum) that it was for the rest of the season.......or at least their $$$ was guaranteed for rest of the season.......

I remember the Bradway years when signing a guy like Marshall who was buried on the depth of a deep unit on a good defense and thinking that maybe we found one of those patented Bradway diamonds in the rough that never actually materialized even once.

Glad we're not on the receiving end of that now.

Yeah but thats the Pats with Conner McDermott. They did us a favor.

Marshall is different. He is a pretty good developing player from last years draft. He was on the PS because we signed FAs Rankins, Thomas, and Smart. Their all FAs at the end of the year, while we had Marshall locked up for 3 years.

Sure, but the salary cap is a mirage, they will either be signed back or replaced with someone of equal or greater value. I have that confidence in Joe D now. They won't all be winners but the roster is going to be built and maintained in superior fashion.

I just hope he doesn't have to send MRIs anywhere going forward.

JD would have kept Marshall if he could have. Its never good to lose a young drafted guy like this. But yeah we will have somebody to fill in.

Another odd move today. We cut Will Parks, who was a great special teams guy and decent backup safety. He is a little dinged up but I wonder if we're making a spot for someone else? No reason for the release was given.

It could be many reasons not football related also, but Parks is at the bottom of the depth chart and those guys usually lose the numbers game.
