3-0-1 last week 29-23-2 overall here we go.... Seattle p8 Packers -- feel Packers a tad overated Patriots -11.5 Jaguars - Jag fantasy comes crashing down Colts -8.5 Chargers -- San Diego showed nothing last week Giants p7.5 Cowboys -- Romo the Homo chokes
Seattle has been awful on the road this year, and GB had an extra week to rest up. The Packers short passing game will prevent the pressure from the front 4 seattle relies on from causing too much trouble. I don't like that pick at all. I hope you know we were just busting balls in the other thread, nothing personal. edit: I might as well put my picks in here from the other thread Give me all the favorites this week. GB -7.5 vs. SEA GB 28 - SEA 17 NE -13.5 vs. JAX NE 31 - JAX 14 (unfortunately there's no bad weather in the forecast) INDY -9 vs. SD INDY - 31 - SD 14 DAL -7.5 vs. NYG DAL 27 - NYG 17 note: My NFL picks have been piss poor lately, so I don't recommend taking gambling advice from me. I'm just doing this for fun.
10:00 left in the third and Farve is making them look silly -- so much for my first pick -- but its not over --
everybody does, and everybody thought the Pats would blow out the Jags. Both spreads went way up over the week. The NE spread opened at like 11 and ended at 13.5. The Colts spread opened at 8 and is now at 10.5. I'll take those points.
The site I go to for spreads had the Pats/Jags spread shifting between 13 and 13.5 all week. The most popular bet all week was the Jags. The line on the Colts moved from 9, to 9.5, up to 10 throughout the week. For some reason it's not listing the most popular bet on this game, but you have to assume it's the Colts with the line moving steadily up.
you never saw the opening line. http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/line-movement/chargers-@-colts.cfm/date/01-13-08 I saw it when it was 8. now up to 10.5 http://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/line-movement/jaguars-@-patriots.cfm/date/01-12-08 opened at 11.5 or 12 depending on the book. Ended at 13.5. Big money was on New England all week.
maybe you can help me with something. I never figured out where you go to access line movement by navigating through the site. I looked around a little and didn't see it. The way I got to those pages was by modifying a previous link I had (change the team names and date).
I had a hard time finding that myself and was going to ask you, but then I just went to the home page and there is a block titled "This week's matchups" in the middle of the page with the line movements.
late game yesterday and early game today are good examples of how when everyone is going one way, you go the other. Everyone picked New England to roll up on Jax, and everyone picked Indy to blow out SD. Almost all the money was on the heavy favorites.
I ended up going with the Giants in my group (+7.5), so it looks like 3-1 for me on the week. All underdogs. The key for Seattle wasn't that they necessarily had a big talent disadvantage; it was that they were playing on the road, in a snowstorm. The defense looked terrible. I think Seattle wins that game if it was played in Qwest Field. I think they're now 1-8 on the road in the playoffs.
