O.K. I know everyone hates these, but I always like to try, just in case I nail it. You have to have these things documented. I assume this time that Chris Long, Gholston and McFadden are gone before our pick. The KC thing becomes a monkeywrench, and they take Gholston to replace the DE they traded to Minny. We trade out, getting the #8 pick from Baltimore for their 3rd rounder(They want Ryan and if your going to take a QB, take it with a first year coach). Here is our draft.
    1) CB- Leodis McElvin- We get our biggest need, a starting corner. He is also a great ST returner.
2)S- Tyrell Johnson- O.K.- I know, I know. A reach right? Word is the Jets LOVE him(shh. no one is supposed to know) and he is ready to play. How about that Sunbelt.Versatility my friends, the key to the 3-4. We will have the best D in football in 2010.
3)WR- Dexter Jackson- Its about time we improved speed on the O and this is the slot guy I think we need. Imagine him and Leon on the field at the same time. Yikes.(Jordy Nelson will be long gone)
4)TE-Jermichael Finley- Terrific pass catcher, Buh-bye Baker.
    6) LB-Ali Highsmith- I think he can play ILB in a 3-4. Football player.
7)DT Ogdemi Nwgbuo- I'd like to buy a vowel Pat... and a guy who could back up all three line positions.

I'd probably throw myself onto the LIE from an overpass if we had a draft that looked like that. Thanks.

I think the trade down at that point if was to happen would be NO jumping ahead of bengals for Ellis or Carolina going over Ravens for Ryan. Dont see the Ravens needing to jump up in this mock

    1. Worse jokes/phrases than Lee Corso.

    2. Horrible draft: We can't go secondary in the first two rounds. That only fixes ONE problem, with our two highest picks...and then a slot receiver in round 3? We already have two more developed slot receivers on the Jets in Chansi Stuckey and Brad Smith. You're just wasting picks. Either get the BPA, or fill the biggest need...and I don't see that anywhere besides Round 4, and Finley should be gone by then.

I want to be the first to say this and I don't care if I GET CRITICIZED McKelvin maybe from Troy but he isn't a pass-rusher like Ware and Osi, he's a cornerback. A CORNERBACK PEOPLE, NOT A PASS-RUSHER. In my opinion, Mike Jenkins, Rodgers-Cromartie, and Antoine Cason are way better than McKelvin. McKelvin is pretty much a special teams guy and the JETS don't need any help in that area. If the JETS are going after a cornerback, they are not going to select one at #6 who will be looking for a payday whose not in the same ballpark with Darelle Revis who the JETS selected at #14. I can't wait till tomorrow when the JETS select someone at #6 whose gonna come in and make a difference right off the bat and hopefully be a starter for a long time.

You're going to get criticized by me: You can't knock McKelvin and then say that Rodgers-Cromartie isn't the same type of player.

Both are outstanding speed corners, that are dangerous with the ball in their hands. Troy plays against much better competition then Tennessee State. McKelvin held is own against OK State, Alabama, and Georgia...while DRC held his own in ONE game against a mediocre senior receiving class at the Senior Bowl.

I don't want ANY corner in the first round.

(Antoine Cason should be the best pro)

I did get BPA. That's why I took the safety. I was caught between Harvey and McElvin in round 1 and felt corner was a bigger need. Chansi Stuckey is a DEVELOPED slot guy? Brad Smith failed his audition. Finley is a red flag guy and should be around. Lee Corso? Who are you? Chris Rock? What's the matter, not enough attention from mom and dad?

That's why you trade down and take a corner instead of taking one at 6. You are ready to go into the season against the Pats and an improved Buffalo w/ Justin Miller at corner? C'mon guys. Get real. The top 5-6 corners will be gone by our second round pick. We need an inside LB more than a 3rd down pass specialist at LB at this point.

I'm truly suprised that more people aren't looking at Cason. He's been a dominant corner in one of the most pass happy conferences in the nation for a while now. He's got great size, great ball skills, and his anticipation is very good as well. Some have concerns about his speed but in the right scheme he could become a very good corner. He's by far the best value pick for a corner in this draft IMO.

I like Cason, but not in the top 10. He'll be gone by our 2nd rounder though. McElvin reminds me alot of Terrence Newman.

McKelvin or McLovin = STONE HANDS. Even if the JETS trade down they might draft a cornerback but not STONE HANDS.

I don't like it much. We don't really need a CB AND FS. Maybe a guy that could project to both such as Tyvon Branch or Reggie Smith in the 2nd. You saw our secondary rank 10th in the NFL last year with those guys we had. All we need is one starter somewhere.

Dexter Jackson would make a good slot guy and Finley is a nice project.

We need more LB help, although Highsmith is a great pickup.

I have to say though, I'd be pretty upset with that draft.

I knew the safety would piss people off and I think after hearing some comments from Jet brass, they would love to trade down to the middle of the draft if DMC isn't there and pick up another 2nd.Unless Gholston is still around.
