ESPN Insider: "Redskins hosting Abraham: The Redskins scheduled Jets defensive end John Abraham for a visit Sunday night after 49ers defensive end Andre Carter visited the facility but departed for a trip to Denver. Abraham is a franchise player but the Jets are willing to trade him, and Abraham wants to be traded. What's interesting is whether the Redskins have enough draft choices to try to appease the Jets. Their No. 1 is with the Broncos. They have only a second, a fifth, two sixths and a seventh. Washington traded its No. 3 to the 49ers for wide receiver Brandon Lloyd along with a No. 4 in 2007. This is Abraham's first visit. He's talking to four other teams, including the Seahawks and the Broncos. "
......im pretty sure they didnt get givens but still.....no money left and the compensation just doesnt seem to be there
Redskins are idiots, they will probably be on their knees begging us to let them have him, and we'll say hell no, kiss my ass.
if they are desperate enough to deal their 2nd rounder this year and next year's 1st, it'd be hard to turn them down
i really hope we dont trade with the skins unless its for this years second and next years second or first. that wouldnt be bad at all. but i relaly dont think we will ship him off to washington. i think we can get something better with quicker return for investment. as in we can get a higher pick and wont have to wait a year for it. plus, hopefully the new FO will want to lose the stigmatism of th e"jetskins" starting back in 02 or 03 with randy thomas, coles, hall, and morton. then last year with the santana and coles trade.
Cant really imagine what they would offer us. To start off the bat it would have to be their first round pick next year and well... thats all I got. I dont really know what player they would give up. The only one I can think of are maybe Cooley (cuz of the Fauira signing), but still their first next year and Cooley is not enough. Beats me??
How about... Next Years first, Ramsey and a nude Photo of Bea Arthur signed "To Woody Johnson, May all your fantasys of me come true. Love Bea "Got Wood" Arthur"
I would LOVE...Chris Cooley and their second rounder for John Abraham... Chris Cooley is one of my favorite TE's in the NFL...he is very solid. I would love for him to be a Jet. That being said, I doubt the Skins will want to give him away.
nah abraham is worth more than that cooley is a good receiving TE/FB, except i doubt we're going to use a FB much, otherwise we would've likely kept sowell (unless he was bitching to much but who knows) edit: so to clear up, i guess i was forgetting he plays TE, because WAS moves him around a lot, and have used him at FB, I feel like whenever I see them he's used as a FB in an H-Back role (i swear i've seen him split out and dump off a lot out of the backfield) anyway he's a possession TE, not bad, not spectacular, but solid, still it'd have to be more like Cooley, this year's second, and next year's first for it to sound about right
I would think that a trade would have to involve next year's draft picks. I'd say either this year's second and next year's second or next year's first along with a second day pick this year.
Abraham, a top pass rusher who is being shopped by the New York Jets, was scheduled to have dinner with coaches and team officials last night, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Carter, the first defensive lineman targeted by the Redskins, left town without a contract yesterday, and the Jets are seeking a first-round pick or multiple picks for Abraham. The Redskins and Jets have already discussed trade options for Washington backup quarterback Patrick Ramsey, who seems certain to leave the team http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/03/12/AR2006031201424.html
