Just listened to him on NFL Radio with Tim and Pat. For what it's worth, he said the JETS worked him out twice last week. Due to excellent personal workouts, he seems to be flying up the draft boards, maybe even up to mid to late 1st. With the Clement resigning, I assume that we would look more towards a OG, unless Mangini thinks Staley can play RG for us... Any thoughts?
Heres a scouting report of Staley. He might translate well to OG considering he moves well for a big guy. Plus in the scouting report it says that he is able to get to the next level, another asset. My primary concern would be that he is still learning OT and a transition to OG might result in some developmental delay. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/ot/joestaley.html
Justin blalock, if we are going to spend a high pick on another lineman, make sure we draft someone in their natural position
I like Beekman , realistically Blalock will be gone ,if he is there , grab him. But Beekmans weakness' can be rectified... Josh Beekman http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingreports/og/joshbeekman.html
I really like Staley but I think his position in the NFL is LT and we already have one. He's not big enough to be a RT and I don't think he's a guard.
