    I know it maybe a lil biased here but whose a better QB ? Namath or Simms???

    Namath was the better QB talent wise, but as we all know his career was derailed by injuries

    Simms was just a game manager. A slightly better Pennington with longevity.

    Namath never played a game where he wasn't in pain. The guys career wasn't that great but what was universally recognized and still is today by anyone who saw him, he was among the most dynamic and exciting players in NFL history and he was able to put it together to make the run to a SB in spite of his pain.

    There isn't a single thing on the football field other than run that Simms was as good as Namath at and I happen to think Simms was a very good QB.

    Joe Namath threw like Marino and was 10X cooler doing it.

    "I guarantee it" if Namath was on Miami and as healthy as Marino that team would have had multiple SB wins.

    Namath was by far the better talent but injuries robbed him of his career and Simms had the better career.

    Namath was a HoF player. I liked Hoss better than Simms.

    I will go out on a limb and say that Simms is a better announcer than Namath.

    I used to love when Namath would announce the pre-season game for ch. 11 back in about '90 would be my guess. You could have a play where 3 individual Jets would fumble on 1 play and he could put a positive spin on it. Joe is the greatest.

    Can you imagine what his career could have been like if he had the surgical options then that are commonly available today ?

    The possibilities are staggering.

    I always thought that Simms was kind of a Madden-wannabe announcer but I could tolerate him. I don't know why but last season, he annoyed the hell out of me.

    Namath revolutionized the QB position...For years it was very conservative styles and rarely bombs would be thrown down-field. Namath being the 1st QB ever to throw for 4,000 yards in a season is history, and he was the one who started it.

    one can only wonder what he could have done with lombardi or noll or even shula as the head coach after ewbank left.......

    namath only had a 1/2 of a good knee on teams with ok talent much better then simms
