    i did not like McKnight as a jet, but man for a guy to lose his life at 28 over some dumb stuff is just sad. it sounds like the idiot who shot him didn't even give a damn that he got locked up. car still there. middle of the day. wtf is wrong with people? im too old for some dumb disrespect to ruin my life.

    They can only hold for 48 hours before charging, I believe, and probably want time to decide the best charge that will stick. After they review the evidence and discuss with the DA I am sure he will be charged.

    Edit: Now reading that the witness who said the shooter was standing over McKnight and that McKnight was trying to apologize at least lied about him standing over McKnight. Seems the guy shot all 3 times from inside his vehicle. There are other witnesses so guess it will take a bit to get the real story.

    Nothing wrong with the cops taking their time to figure out what happened. However, for a traffic problem I had on Stewart Avenue in Garden City a few years ago, I had to post $250 bucks at the police station or they were going to send me to jail overnight. Doesn't seem just to let a guy walk under own recognizance who kills someone who doesn't have a gun except in home invasion or something like that.
