Man I hope 4 QBs go in the top 9… plus Harrison. That gives a pretty good chance at either Alt or Nabers.
Frankly, if I am Joe Alt and Jets are on the clock, I am going back to school - to grad school or whatever.
Yes, Alt now seems to be to be the consensus number one tackle for 2024. Olu Fashanu is being downgraded to number two because of relatively subpar run blocking. in fact, Jeremiah has the Jets picking Fuaga over Fashanu. This might create a wonderful opportunity for the Jets. 1. Williams; 2. Maye; 3. Daniels; 4. Harrison; 5. Bowers; 6. Nabers; 7. Alt; 8. Turner; 9. Odunze; 10. JETS Fashanu! For the Jets, I would go with Fashanu’s left tackle profile, superior athleticism, upside, and youth over Fuaga’s killer strength and run blocking.
The biggest thing to follow before the draft is if any of these WR needy teams fill their needs via FA. If they don't, we could actually be sitting pretty at #10 for Alt or Foshanu. The biggest questionmark of the draft is what LAC does. We really really really want them to take Bowers. If they don't take a WR (Mike Will is prob getting cut and Allen may be cut or restructured), Bowers would be awesome for them. Chicago - Williams Washington - Maye New England - Daniels Arizona - MHJR (sneaky team for Alt since they have pick 21 and can prob get Brian Thomas or Troy Franklin) Chargers - Bowers Giants - Nabers Titans - Alt/Foshanu Atlanta - Defense Chicago - Odunze Jets - Alt/Foshanu
If Alt somehow lasted to 9, I would expect a different team than Chicago to be making that selection for a king's ransom. Joe Douglas went from superstar to league bitch in one season, I don't know that I see him bouncing back. But if Belichick is making the selection at 8, Alt won't last til 9. With a similar scenario.
