OAKLAND, Calif. (AP)?The Oakland Raiders released veteran tackle Kwame Harris and fullback Justin Griffith on Monday, freeing more than $8 million in salary cap space

Do teams usually release such studs this often?

Harris was an obvious shit signing the day he was signed. I called that one last may.

This doesn't shock me - the actor tells us that these guys are good and then they get released.

I hope they have good careers in other places like everyone else does when they leave Oakland.... Warren Sapp says fuck you.

    Another release

NFL.com's Adam Schefter reports that the Raiders will likely release Javon Walker before his $5 million March 3 roster bonus comes due.

    Nice.

You're right. Oakland is pretty much the end of the road. Maybe Al Davis is a talent vampire. It would probably explain why his mummified remains can still do pressers.

J Griffith is one of the best all round FBs in the game. What his release tells you is that Raiders think their Stud FB Oren Oneal will be ready for 2009. Oren Oneal had a devasting knee injury in the preseason last year. There was talk at the time it could be career ending) ORen Oneal destroys any defenders that get in his way. His lost was a big big blow to the running game. Oneal been working out every day at Raiders facility.

Also what Griffith release tells you is how much they like WR turned FB/ h-back Marcel Reece 6'2 240 4.42. Reece has wr skills, runs good routes, has very good hands and will be a nightmare for defenses to accountn for( Mcfadden , Reece, and their stud tE Zach Miller ) What a three headed monster combination and one I wouldn't want to see as a defensive coordinator.

Kwame harris - There was no way Raiders were not going to cut him. Basically he signed a one year contract and no way were they going to pay him that much money(9 million) after he lost his LT Job to Mario Henderson. I still think they might sign Kwame harris
down the road to a more reasonable contract and move him to RG. Kwame harris is a great run blocker, has great feet and would thrive inside ala Robert gallery.

Raiders have alot of very good young players and they are going to giver those kIds a chance.
With the seventh pick in the draft Raiders select BJ Raji. First I don't think a OT going to be there(not after a Smith) and second that position is deep enough that they should be able to get one in the second.

Raiders Dline really starts shaping up well for the future. De's 22 T Scott, 22Greyson gunheim 25 Jay Richardson DT BJ Raji 22 Tom Kelly 28

Fuck that. Kwame Harris sucks. Unreal penalties, incredibly undisciplined given that the O-Line Coach was also the Head Coach, scratch that, IS the Head Coach. Justin Griffith though is a stud.

We should pick up Griffith, when and if Tony Richardson decides to hang it up, im thinking this is Richardson's last season.

    are you kidding me???

Sapp going to Tampa was the best thing that ever happened to him in his pro career... he'd hug all of us one by one for not drafting him... He loves the Jets.

Warren Sapp and I would be great friends. I'd send him christmas cards every year.

Is that the same 3 headed monster as the 4 headed monster from last year? It seems like the NFL was able to handle that monster rushing attack last year. Oh thats right a case of turf toe killed the 4 headed monster rushing attack.

Or is this the new and improved monster? Do they get added together or are they kept separate. I can"t keep all of this straight jeaux, i'll need more "expert" football knowledge to get it.

Nah Personally I hope Raiders resign Kwame harris and move him to RG. Would give the Raiders two athlethic guards(gallery and harris) that would excel in pass protection and run blocking. IF Raiders don't sign him that says how much they believe in Paul Mcquistan( very dominate run blocker) to be the RG. (his feet aren't as good as harris) I trully believe you have to create as much competition at a position.

J Griffith is a diffrent kind of blocker. Oren Oneal destroys anything in front of him . Griffith more of a positional blocker. (does catch the ball very well)

The NFL didn't handle the Raiders rushing attack. Only thing that saved the NFL was injuries. Facts- THeir doiminating lead blocker Fb Oren O'neal was lost in the preseason. (was a very big lost) They lost OT/Guard Paul Mcquistan to injury very early in the season. (very dominating run blocker) Outside of M BUsh there other two RBsw were hurt for a good part of the season. D Mcfadden was healthy last year and there a good chance Raiders win the AFC West.

I know how good Raiders running attack is. HOw much money you want to lose that Raiders will have more yards (I don't care if you want to use total or average yards per carry as a standard) than the Jets rushing attack. A healthy Mcfadden and Jets wouldn't have come close. Put up or shut up. Ball in your court.

BTW What IM talking about is the three heraded monster in the passing game. We know TE Zach Miller is one of the premier TEs in all of football. (his numbers will only skyrocket when Raiders upgrade OT and he dosn't need to stay in to block and basically he was a one man show- he was seeeing alot of double and triple coverage.

Darren Mcfadden who wasn't healthy after week two , the few times Raiders moved him outside, he scared the beejevers out of a defense. The plan with Mcfadden was to use his recieving skills alot(dangerous weapon) but the injuries prevented them from using him as much as they wanted to. They Just unleash a healthy Mcfadden on the NFl in 2009.

Marcel Reece (go youtube him) 6'2 240 4.42 WR in college. The guy runs great routes , his hands are very good and Raiders have move him to Fb- H-back.. Raiders have their stud TE already zach Miller. Now you add a h-back with WR skills and how does a defense account for him and the other two guys.

Thats not even counting Raiders young talented WRs that might not be there yet , but in time are going to be very good.

The 6'4 220 4.37 Chaz Schilens, J Lee Higgins 5'11 185 (third year as alot of NFl people think could have break out year in 2009) Arman Shields 6'1 195 - Raiders IR so he could be 100% healthy. HE runs great routes and has excellent hands. Scouts thought he would made a great possessin reciever. He blew alot of scouts away when he ran a sub 4.4 . The guy won every single WR drill at the combine last year . Raiders love this kid.

J Porter 6'2 220- good chance he back with raiders. hes not going to put up 2002 numbers and he dosen't have to. J Porter is a very physical blocker(never hurts when you want to run the football) and gives another guy to make ther important third down catch. Just another piece in the puzzle.
