Hey all... This is my third shot at a mock draft this season. I decided to put trades in that seem very logical and fair based on the trade value chart. It also includes a full Jets draft. I think I've made each trade-down scenario very realistic based on value on the board, need, and what picks the trading up team owns.. Take a look through it all and let me know what you think.. And feedback is appreciated.

    - Buffalo trades 1.9 and 2.41 to Washington for 1.4
    - NY Giants trade 1.15 and 3.76 to Denver for 1.11

    - Philadelphia trades 2.37, 4.105 and 6.200 to NY Jets for 1.29

2.37: Linval Joseph | DL | East Carolina
I had the Jets trading down for this guy when I first made this a few days ago and now I most of the new mocks also have a trade down for Joseph. Nice to see most of us are on board with this guy.

    2.61: Eric Norwood | OLB/DE | South Carolina
One of my favorite prospects, Norwood is a prototypical 3-4 OLB and a solid value. Upgrading this pass rush is a MUST by the 4th round IMO

    4.105: Dominique Franks | CB | Oklahoma
I see Franks falling just a bit partially due to the depth at CB in this draft. He’d be a great value here and too good to pass up. And it’s always important to have very good CB depth and right now it’s a bit shaky.

    4.124: Emmanuel Sanders | WR | SMU
Another fan-favorite pick, Sanders looks like an ideal slot receiver and is rising up draft boards. Although this would once be considered a reach, it no longer is as he’s improved his stock over the last couple months.

    5.155: Jeromy Miles | S | Massachusetts
Here’s a guy you might not have heard of, but he’s a sleeper who looks like a potential steal. Although he comes from a small school, he’s a well-rounded player with good size and speed.

    6.198: Kevin Haslam | OT/OG | Rutgers
More offensive line depth… I get a strong feeling that the Jets like what they have with Matt Slauson, Robert Turner, and Wayne Hunter. Perhaps two of these guys are the heirs at LG and RT, respectively.

6.200: Mickey Shuler Jr | TE | Penn St
A guy the team had in for a visit, Shuler adds depth at TE and could find competition for the number two role not that stiff.

    7.236: John Fletcher | DE | Wyoming
A 3-4 end, Fletcher is a small-school sleeper who would be worth a shot here.

I like the picks, but Franks and Sanders won't last that long. ...and as much as I love Eric Norwood, he'll be available later.

I don't understand two of your trades:

Why would Buffalo trade up when Clausen is probably going to fall into their lap?

Why would Houston basically trade away Ryan Mathews (a player that they want) to the Chargers, a team that wants Mathews too? If Houston was going to trade back, it would be with a team that doesn't need a running back.

Man, Damian Williams and Carlos Dunlap fell far.

Buffalo trades up because there's a chance Kansas City and Cleveland take him or a team like Jacksonville or whoever else trades up to get him. They don't want to miss out on a franchise QB like Clausen so they trade up to make sure he sticks around.

You really think that Sanders won't last until the bottom of the 4th? His stock has really risen than...

I see a pretty good 2nd/3rd-round caliber CB or two dropping to the 4th because of the depth and talent at the position.

I think if San Diego likes Matthews enough they'll want to move up and get him... Houston accepts for the extra picks and also because with Kubiak and company there they have some Denver background and they always found gems in the mid-late rounds and plugged them into their blocking scheme and made them stars. They do something similar in Houston so they decide to trade down, address the secondary with McCourty who's a much better value at 28 and wait until the middle of the 2nd to get a good complementary back in Hardesty.

I agree that it's quite a fall for both. Honestly, I'm coming around on Dunlap and now think he won't fall as far as I once thought he might. I didn't necessarily anticipate Williams falling that far, but when you do a longer NFL mock draft like this, sometimes guys just unexpectedly drop a bit.

Speaking of Clausen to the Bills:
From Michael Lombardi, for what it's worth.

Even if Houston didn't want a running back, they wouldn't trade down because they'd be foolish to deal away from Kyle Wilson. They need a cornerback badly, and he'd be great value at that spot. He's really solidly the #2 corner in the draft and is an instant starter.

A lot of screwy values too, Brian Price falling that far? Indianapolis would explode if the Colts were on the board and didn't take him. They need a tackle, but they need a very specific kind of tackle. Their defensive line has always been built on athleticism, Dan Williams is a good player and good value in the 20s, but Brian Price is a perfect Colt DT. He's way, way too talented to fall that far.

A corner from the 2nd round range may fall, but I don't think Franks would go behind some of the guys you have before him. I like Walter McFadden a lot, but he's simply nowhere near the prospect Franks is.

Clausen trade is a head scratcher too. The Bills have nothing right now, I think the only way they go QB is if they're lucky enough to see Jimmy fall to 9 then immediately spend a bunch of picks on linemen. Dealing away their 2nd rounder to have Clausen get killed as a rookie isn't the way to do that.

And Tony Pike is terrible. I'm guessing like 5th or 6th round on him, just doesn't have an arm.

I like Kevin Haslam in the Jets draft, he could be a quality starter for the future. Real versatile too.

    Thanks all for the feedback..

That's very interesting to read about the Bills QB preferences... It could be just smoke in mirrors, but I can believe it. But IMO if Clausen gets past the Bills I think the Jags could definitely take him. I've also heard the Bills would consider Tebow at 9, which I think is pretty high.

Don't forget that the Colts did draft that big NT from Michigan a couple years ago, Terrence Taylor, who also doesn't fit the mold of what their DTs typically are. That's a big reason why I have them trading up for him. They have some athletic DTs, but they could also use a big-run stopper in there. But you're right that Brian Price would be a perfect fit for them. And if they stay at 31, he could absolutely be the pick

Kansas City has Matt Cassell, and while he hasn't been great, they're going to give him a chance.

I just don't think Buffalo would have to trade THAT far up to land Clausen.

If JAX trades up, then there's really nothing Buffalo can do about it. All they'll have to do is jump one pick ahead of Buffalo though.

I think he'll go mid-to-late third. Davone Bess' moderate success in the NFL has really opened some eyes.

I think Houston is deadset on taking either Kyle Wilson or Ryan Mathews.

Houston won't give up a chance at a potentially elite back for a few extra picks.

If the Texans want to move back, it won't be with a team that will take a player they like.

Well, I guess we shouldn't be too surprised if Gailey drafts Tim Tebow, Colt McCoy, or Jarrett Brown.

would have taken Ricky Sapp over Norwood but overall good draft. The trades are a bit confusing without explanations though

Actually I did know that.. But the point of my comment was they tried to draft a run-stopping nose tackle in the draft rather than the typical undersized, quick defensive tackle they often go for.

I figures that when you see who each team trades up for it'd be pretty obvious why they did trade up.

But if I do trades in a mock again I'll include explanations. I was debating whether or not to do it, but I decided not to

Behind Suh and McCoy, Brian Price is the best 4-3 defensive tackle in this draft. He's a hell of a player.

I don't know if he'll make it into the 20s.

I know you really, really like Nate Allen, but I think he's going to slip a bit. ...maybe into the beginning of the third round. For the record, I like him too. I think he'll eventually be a good starter in this league.

They also signed Anthony McFarland once upon a time, and in neither case did it work out for them. Their defense relies on sudden and explosive talent on that line, getting one run stopper isn't going to make the a strong run stopping team. All it really means is that they have one guy who doesn't fit in with everybody else's style or the system of the defense.

If Ricky Sapp is there for our late 2nd round pick, I think it's a no-brainer over Norwood.

    Potential vs. production.

I think Norwood's lack of height will cause him to fall into the third round. While Sapp's ideal measurables will push him into the front end of the second round.

I still cannot get over how great Norwood looked during the senior game practices.

Believe it or not I created it about four days ago and than a slew of mocks with Joseph trading down came up. And at that point I decided I wouldn't change it.

But it's only that one pick. The rest is pretty different.

And plus, that'd be a perfect pick IMO
