Yup, time for the mock drafts to get going. Starting to see other people's mocks so I decided to take a shot at a draft I would be happy with. So here it goes:

1 - Tyson Jackson, DE (LSU): great 3-4 DE prospect. would be very hard to pass up this guy if he is there when we pick. and we are getting old at the DE position so this makes sense.

3 - Hakeem Nicks, WR (North Carolina): decent size at 6'1 210. very productive. might not be as big as people want in a new receiver but i have a feeling this guy will be a solid nfl player.

3 - Josh Mauga, ILB (Nevada): has experience in both the 4-3 and 3-4. good size and speed at 6'2 / 245 / 4.65 40-time.

4 - Troy Kropog, OT (Tulane): solid character guy. will be at the senior bowl. is a 3 year starter playing mostly left tackle but has also played a few games at right tackle.

5 - David Bruton, S (Notre Dame): 6'2 212. a captain of the Irish squad and their top tackler. is on the nagurski list for defensive player of the year for '08. can come in and compete for a starting role.

6 - Brannan Southerland, FB (Georgia): we are a team that values a good blocking full back. our current full back is old and has shown us the importance of having someone to pave the way. hopefully he can sit for a year and learn the ropes.

7 - Dallas Reynolds, OG (BYU): has played tackle, guard and center. that kind of versatility late in the draft could make this kid worth taking a flyer on.

    George Selvie - DE (USF)

Ya gotta consider this kid I have watched him for the last 2 years and he is gonna be a sleeper in the draft..... couple of comments from the local press, "......Arguably the most accomplished returning defensive player, along with Ohio State?s James Laurinaitis ... National leader in career tackles for loss (46.5) and second in sacks (20) ... On nearly every preseason All-American list ... A candidate for Lombardi, Nagurski, Bednarik, Hendricks and Lott Trophy ... High motor athlete ... Coaches call him the best practice player on the team ... Intensity in practice sets a standard for his drive during games ... A solid citizen off the field ... Participates in every community service opportunity around the athletics department and football program ... Gained weight steadily during the off-season ... Quiet and humble nature comes from his upbringing in a military family...."
