Wasn't expecting this. I thought he had great potential as a big guy on the DL, tough luck with the injuries. Source:

#Jets waive DL Ropati Pitoitua. You might remember him from Hard Knocks when he was injured. Tough part of the #NFL.

#Jets waive DL Ropati Pitoitua. Somewhat surprising.

Maybe they are looking to sign someone else? And the D-line rotation is huge someone had to get waived but I didn't expect Pitoitua to get cut

Wasn't expecting that. I wonder what the reasoning is... anyone know what he was due this season? I can't imagine he was commanding much of a salary.

Anybody want to place odds that he goes to the Patsies?

Wasn't expecting that at all. Thought he could be a good rotation guy on the d-line.

I'm suprised. They signed him to an extension last year so maybe that didn't want to pay him to be the 7th DL.

It's not necessarily a salary cap move. You can only have 53 players and with the addition of Coples there wasn't room.

Mo Wilk, Pouha, Coples, DeVito, Ellis, and Dixon (the coaching staff is very high on Dixon). Unfortunately no need for Ropati. He'll find work though.

I just hope we didn't cut this guy so we can keep 4 rbs.

A little surprising but I had a feeling this might be coming.

When they talked about the D-line at the Coples presser they made it a point to name everybody but him.

Too bad I liked him. Hope he catches on somewhere (not Foxboro)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I guess he's a Coples casualty (even though they play different positions).

I'll never forget Kris Jenkins carrying him after he hurt his knee (as seen on Hard Knocks).

Rosters are at 90 guys right now? Or have they not expanded yet?

It's surprising, but he never showed up as anything more than a depth guy and he wasn't on the minimum, so I guess he was at risk.

NFL is no longer just the " No Fun League", it's also the "Not For Long" league, careers really do end in the blink of an eye.
