I wonder what the trade market would look like for Holmes? Does that make us more likely to spend our first round pick on WR? Losing Holmes creates a whole new set of questions on this already challenging offseason

Well, at least Braylon's a FA......................... LOL.

Not much we could do in terms of a trade for Holmes. We have no leverage.... Hopefully if things aren't sorted out, we can cut ties and not take too big a hit. Can't have this dickhead in our locker room any more.

Too much money and too much talent to get rid of him I think.

Give it a few months for emotions to get under control and guys will be willing to try to make it work... Holmes being willing might be another issue.

There is just nothing we can do about it. We can't take a $12 million cap hit to cut him. We'd be a worse team without him minus 12 mil.

Yeah, it will take a big effort by the other guys to make it work but they need some type of help from Holmes.

We start winning and holmes won't be complaining. His contract will make him tough to trade, so either bench him if he steps out of line or play him and ignore his antics.

Yeah best case scenario would be Holmes apologizing to the team and coming back. Ego issues might prevent that from happening tho.

Alshon Jeffrey from Georgia would be a solid draft pick

    dookie sock

When you dookie in a sock and proceed to beat someone with it.
In the military when someone screwed up they hold a blanket party. In that case they put a bar of soap in a sock and repeatedly beat the person with it while holding them down in the bunk with their blanket. This is the same but instead of using a bar of soap, you use dookie/poop.

    "One respected Jets veteran".

Well, that pretty much narrows it down to LT.

assasinate him and just collect insurance - ? sounds like a good option - little weed with coke and stick him in his navigator -- not only do we keep money - we get paid

    Joking of course...

Pretty comical comment. Does he think he is going to quit? Retire? Just throw 40 million down the sewer? Of course he will be back. He is untradeable right now and that leaves him nowhere else to go. I don't see the Jets taking an 8 million cap hit to let him go to NE (which is probably where he would end up if we cut him)

We have to bring him back, but we're not going to have a successful offense if he's our #1 receiver. We need to sign one of these big FA receivers(Bowe, Colston, DJax, Vincent Jackson), and draft one of the top receivers in the draft. If you're going to draft a QB #5 overall, surround him with talent. This is our chance.

last year i remember watching holmes drop a perfect pass in the end zone and then we lost to the dolphins - i sat in freezing ass rain for him to lose the game for us and no one acted like a little diva toward him - this guy needs a reality check

Let's resign Cotchery and Braylon. They could be cheap and possibly willing to resign if they know Holmes is going elsewhere.

We can maybe use Holmes in the draft or grab Floyd from ND

They aren't getting rid of him. Can we really AGAIN change WRs for Sanchez? If we get rid of him and Plax walks, then WHO the FUCK is our top 2 receivers?

I bet L Coles would be interested in coming back as well, but I don't think it's a good idea to let Tone draft for us.

Just wondering if Tanny and the Jets have any legal leverage against Holmes for behavior detrimental to the team. In other words, legal leverage to simply not pay him, and to not take the cap hit.

If a player refuses to play, basically 'retires on the field', might that not end his contract with cap friendly consequences for the Jets?

When Vick got caught killing Old Yeller, didn't the Falcons sue him to get some of their money back?

    Just wondering.

There's a difference between going to jail for 2 years and being pulled by your offensive coordinator for divisive behavior.
