I hope you all check out my 7 round mock draft! This mock includes what I would do if I were the GM. To be clear, this is not what I expect the Jets to do on draft night...although I wish they would :p

As a side-note, I will be giving away a FREE Jets jersey on April 27th.
The details for the giveaway are in the first few minutes of the video (and in the description).

    Hope you all enjoy!

Thanks for the video. I love the Jameson Williams pick. That is a hell of a 1st round. I would much prefer trading back from 4 to get Williams at 18 than trading up. But, hard to argue with Williams, Gardner and Johnson.

One thing really missing in your draft on the 1st 2 days is a DT. Which is arguably our 2nd biggest need after edge.

Great job Penny! If we wound up with all these players it would be a HR draft for me. You may have convinced me that taking an elite CB like Sauce is the right move because of all the elite receivers in the AFCE and AFC in general. I'd be very nervous though about waiting until #10 to get our Edge. I DO like the trade up to get Williams - I really like him and he's my preferred WR out of this draft at this point despite the injury...he's ahead of schedule apparently in rehabbing it and should be ready for the season. While I like Brisker, me personal preference would be taking a stud OL, either Trevor Penning or Zion Johnson if they're available. Failing that I'd personally go after either Jahan Dotson or Christian Watson...assuming they already picked up Williams in your draft scenario I wouldn't need to have that bigger WR to complement Moore as I was, so I'd lean towards Dotson because although he's of similar size to Moore, he's just a great all around receiver, and he could be insurance if Moore continues to struggle staying healthy.

I like the pick of Walker if I didn't take an OL with their 4th pick, especially because I'm still in the "show me" camp with Becton. I also like the Tindall pick. Despite the assumption that Saleh is happy with his LBers I think that unit is thin and the way that Mosely plays I can easily see him getting hurt again. I also really like getting another good two-way TE like Turner who could actually play as a big WR in some sets, as well as be a good blocker. And I like the pickup of a DL with the last pick and Butler could be a real find for them,

    Overall, great draft!

Good job! All the scenarios make sense. Not sure it shakes out that way but the logic is there. Sauce and JJ would be a nice haul. I think JD will fade on Williams just because he will want Wilson to have an entire training camp with his new rookie WR. I see Williams going to a team with a vet QB that can ease him into the NFL coming off the injury.

You're preaching to the choir, Sauce and JJ are my two top picks for the Jets. JJ may not make it to # 10. IMO, JJ is the second best pass rusher in this draft and plays the run equally well and doesn't take plays off.

Nit picking, I'm not thrilled trading up, but I understand the need for a # 1 wideout. If the Jets don't trade up, I'm certain, Kansas City would be taking a wide out (Watson or Dotson) with one of their late 1st round picks and would leave the Jets with few choices at WR in Rd 2.

I'd rather have added a RB or a Center on day 3, instead of a TE.

    Solid Job!!

You obviously did your homework on prospects, and your rationale for selecting players is well thought through. Overall, I like most of the players you took. What I don't like at all is the trade up. I don't think it prudent for a rebuilding team to trade up two years in a row in the draft burning draft capital that they need for addressing weakness and upgrading depth. If anything, the Jets need to trade down from #10 to recoup picks that they used last year trading up for AVT. That alone turns imo this draft from a B+ to a B-.

I think Gardner is a great prospect, but I don't think the Jets need to take a CB, especially early, as they have excellent young CBs who are still developing. Taking Gardner would mean that Hall gets benched, and Hall is too good to be sitting on the bench. At #4 I think the Jets should go ahead and take J. Johnson then one of J. Williams or G. Wilson at #10 to ensure that they get the WR they want. It's reaching some, but if they produce as expected, no one will care.

I like Brisker, but like Lewis Cine better at S. I think the Jets need to take 2 WRs. By trading up, they lose that opportunity. In the 2nd I would have taken either Christian Watson or Dotson. I like the Rasheed Walker pick in the 4th. I like Tindall ok, but the Jets could have had a better LB if they hadn't wasted the 3rd trading up. They possibly could have had Chad Muma or Quay Walker.

I really like taking a TE here, and think that it is wise in this strong and deep TE class, but don't think Cole Turner is the right one or that he can play in line. He was a WR that just converted to TE and played split out wide most of the time. He is not much of a blocker, nor do I think he will ever be much of a blocker. IMO the pick here has to be Cade Otton or Jelani Woods. Otton is basically the same size, faster, and is already a very good blocker. He's a better, more refined route runner and very smooth. Woods is huge and has sky high potential.

Butler sounds like a decent prospect, but I think we need to take a DT earlier. I agree that we definitely want one who can rush the passer as well as stuff the run. I think we need a true NT type DL not just a run of the mill DT. I would take either Travis Jones or Phidarian Mathis if I could, or waiting until the 4th round probably would take Eyioma Uwazurike.

We also needed to draft a RB, but couldn't because of your wasting a pick on Gardner, and two trading up.

I love ya, guy, but in all honesty, I'd have to give this draft a C- because I don't think it maximizes value, and winds up with some lesser players as a result of choices early. The two biggest negatives imo were taking Gardner and trading up.

I like the ones you picked. However, I don't think Jameson Williams lasts that long, and I don't think we get a premium WR if we use our first two picks on defense. A top WR is a must for this draft.

I agree with this. I have Jameson Williams as my top WR and wouldn't be mad if we grabbed him at 10 if we can get KT or trade back from 4.
