Per Manish on Twitter. Wow. I hope we can re-sign at least Woody and Jenk to cheaper deals, maybe even Taylor.

    This isn't that surprising.

Both Woody and Jenkins are older players coming off of serious knee injuries.

Rotoworld says we will save 24mil with these 4 gone?

    evansilva

All told, those four Jets moves will save the team $24.33 million in salary and bonuses. http://bit.ly/etdUSb

He's one of the few guys that can be cut and save a good chunk of cap space. We also have a 2nd round pick who was being groomed all of last year waiting to replace him and a much cheaper FA to resign who filled in OK for him.

To me, this looks like we're freeing up cash to re-sign our receivers.

Agreed. Atleast, that's where the newfound cap space should go, and towards locking up D Harris. $24 mill is a nice dent in the problem.

David Harris is locked up for now. He'll be re-signed next off-season.

Holmes and Edwards are probably the top priority now. I doubt Tannenbaum will spend any of this cash on Cromartie.
