We were talking about this in another thread. I think Moore will be cut if they aren't able to agree on a contract restructure.

Honestly, he deserves that money. He won't renegotiate his contract after a career year. Especially considering he has gotten better every single year. I think it would be a huge mistake to let him go, but I'd understand it if they did.

The renegotiation won't necessarily give him less money. I think it should be an easy one. Basically they need to move his roster bonus over to a more cap friendly signing bonus. His base salary isn't an issue

    From New York Daily News:

"Jets' brass arrived here at the scouting combine with several pressing issues. They will meet Friday night with the agent for right guard Brandon Moore, who is due a $7 million roster bonus. The team poured a lot of money into the offensive line last offseason and wants to renegotiate his contract. Failing that, the Jets may release Moore, their best run blocker. He'd immediately become one of the top free-agent guards."

I don't anticipate any issues in reworking his contract.

If they absolutely have to get rid of Moore, I would think they could get SOMETHING in trade value. No?

Who's going to fill in? I'm all for retooling this team a little but if all of these rumors about releasing players are true than we're just creating more problems than we can fill in one offseason. Are they just considering this next season to already be a wash?

This should be easy to get done, but needs to happen sooner rather then later. Moore played very well last year and needs to be retained. Just not at that price.

I get the restructuring thing, but this is alot like the Ellis discussion - don't get left holding the bag without someone to take his place.

I hope they dont get rid of Moore. Rework the contract or something. Moore is a good RG and the best O-Lines are the ones that play together. The Jets O-Line was good last year and that was with two new additions. Let's keep this line together.

Rotoword is reporting that the Jets are trying to restructure with Moore right now - if they can't strike a deal, he'll be cut.

If they cut him it would be a huge mistake. There is now way they will do that due to the fact they he had an awesome year last year. I would go nuts. He had a better year than Faneca that is for sure.
