As expected... on a related note... anyone heard anything about Wallace Wright and Ihedigbo? I hope they get re-signed soon...

Me too. Wallace Wright is arguably our best special teamer.

They're both RFAs. They'll get their tender offers soon.

I love Ihedigbo style of play in this D... he's the perfect S blitzer... I wonder if they are trying to sort out something "long term"... anyways those two guys are really valuable for this team and I'm kind of surprised we still ahven't worked out anything for them.

They won't be tenedered IMO... they were both undrafted so we'd have to give them a 2nd round tender minimum which is way more money than they deserve... but I'd like to give them both a 2/3 year deal... something like 500 next year, 650 the year after and 700 the one after that.

There are tender offers lower than 2nd rounders. That's why the Saints get no compensation if someone signs Mike Bell away. I agree on wanting to give them a multi-year deal, though. I would rather not put Tannenbaum in a situation where he has to fill 50% of the roster in the FA process.

I know... they can tender him for "original round" which is 1 mill something and since Bell, like Wright and Ihedigbo is a UFA, it basically just means you gt the option to match anything another team offers.

My point is I don't think Wright or Ihedigbo are worth more than 1 mill (I think it's 1.2 for the original roun tender), this is why I'd like the Jets to negotiate a "lon term" (3 year) deal.

I think Eric Smith is just as good for that role. Plus, Smith is probably better in coverage.

We need Wright back. Ihedigbo.. I think is expendable. He hits like a truck but he draws a lot of flags.
