    Jets Team Report

    Rich Cimini
    New York Daily News

Generously listed at 292 pounds, Pete Kendall is one of the smallest guards in the league. But he compensates with textbook technique. Kendall plays with a wide base and knows how to use leverage and angles to his advantage. From an intangible standpoint, Kendall is the glue of the line.

FALLING: WR Justin McCareins has become an afterthought in the offense. With a $2.2 million base salary, McCareins could be the highest-paid No. 4 receiver in the league. The Jets could look to deal him before the trading deadline.

OVERACHIEVING: WR Jerricho Cotchery parlayed a terrific offseason into a starting job. A rigorous offseason regimen helped Cotchery lower his 40 time to the high 4.4s. He's having a career year as a result.

UNDERACHIEVING: CB Justin Miller has plenty of natural ability, but he's still undisciplined and lacks focus at times. He doesn't make nearly enough plays on the ball.

It's a shame he hasn't been producing much this season so far.

I'd hate to see him go, seeing as he had potentional when Dinger' came over from Tenn. Plus I have his jersey so I don't want him gone

Hell yeah. That opens up what, 2.2 mil in cap room? I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Another note: Since Herm has released Dalton, wouldn't he need some STUD DT to help out? I mean, not those back-up rotation materials like James Reed. I am talking about D-Rob! I'm wondering if Herm would take him for his team. (I have gone from supporter to basher status in regard to Herm, but I might go neutral with him, if he does pull this off!!)

We won't miss J Mac at all. I just am not sure what we could get for him. Not that I am an expert, but a 3rd round pick seems about right.

No shot in hell do we get a day 1 pick. We're going to get like a 5th rounder, if we did deal him.

I agree. We have hardly played him all season so I can't see why teams would give us a great pick for him.

Who's the Jets slot? I've seen alot of Dwight since he's been back and Brad Smith to an extent...Seems like they interchange alot.

Great point. Anything higher than a seventh round pick we jump on.

Cimini usually is pretty good when it comes to the Jets...And it's been looking like JMac has lost considerable playing time when it comes to multiple receiver sets to Tim Dwight or Brad Smith...

McCareins looks like he just doesn't care out there when he does get into the game. He is a lost cause and any draft pick compensation for him would be shocking. Is he any better than a Jabbar Gaffney or a Corey Bradford (who were both cut this year) at this point?
