That would be so sweet if we brought in all these players from Australia and starting a whole recruiting area down there.

Aker? I don't think he would do good. But would still be interesting to see

Is he fast? It's the consensus that most who play your sports over there can catch, but I think it really would depend on his speed and leaping ability. Not even so much fast, but quick. If they want him, they better get him in soon so they can have someone teach him the rules and then how to run a route. Because even if he is that good of an athlete he needs to learn how to play the position.

I think Aker's best days are past him and doubt if this story will go any further. There are definately players who could compete at the WR position however it seems explosive speed is a pre-requisite. All our running players can catch and be evasive but not all have explosive pace. All are exceptional endurance athletes which is not important in the NFL.

The one player I would pick is Chris Judd. He is easily the best player in our league at the moment however would never take the risk to change sports.

My tip is the next Aussie you see in the NFL will be a punter like Graham. One of the Rocca brothers.

It's a beat up.....Aker is definitely not going to the Jets. The Pope would sooner convert to Islam and try to blow up the Vatican.

That is not to say that Australia has a lot of potential as far as American football goes.....we are a sporting nation and there are undoubtedly many future stars of the NFL to be found in this country.

I dont think Aker will move to the Jets or any NFL team, hes totally different than a WR. I mean hes adapted well to afl and it would be extremely hard to change its not just a little change such as a punter.

    10.8 in the 100M is 109.7yards in 10.8 seconds.

Wow, that's fast! If that is true, bring on the Aussie! But, I must admit, I was on the other Jets site that had a link to his website...he looks like a douchebag IMO :)

Welll for sure Aussies FB players are far tougher then anything we have on our roster at the moment. I like the term "struggling" which was used for us but they should have said "struggling for 37 years 4 months & 8 days since there last championship". That would have actually described our team more better.

He IS a douchbag. At the moment he is in dispute with his coach which is pretty unheard of in Aussie rules, at least publically. Ours is a team game and individuals who speak out publically are frowned upon. Aker gets on radio and opens his big mouth too much.

Which is exactly why I question why the Jets would be interested in him.....unless.....of course, his coach is a Kotite.

Oh well, maybe coming to the NFL will humble the guy.

Didnt know Antwaan Randle El was a top 10 WR. Also didnt know undersized WRs was the norm now too. I guess I missed that memo.

Aker would have the ego for American Football. He talks the talk and walks the walk. Think he is past his prime thou(I'll get bitten on my backside for that comment). As mentioned earlier Chris Judd or one of the roccas at their end of their AFL career are morelikely candidates.

Not a chance Judd leaves. Maybe the Roccas, but they would have to leave right now. But this Aker rubbish is exactly that, rubbish.
