The Jets have agreed to terms with former Bucs S Jordan Whitehead, sources tell @espn. Another proven starter for the secondary. #Jets— Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) March 15, 2022 Preferred Badger but this is nice
24 years old, another guy on the rise that a lot of people are claiming is a huge loss for his prior team. I can get behind this big time.
Whitehead was one of the best options on the market to fill Maye's role: pic.twitter.com/YAIhTnvSpo— Michael Nania (@Michael_Nania) March 15, 2022
Wow this is good stuff! By far one of the best FA years I can remember in a long time, and now we can go BPA on most of our picks and really start to give this team a jolt of talent everywhere
The secondary was a weak spot last season -- 30th in pass defense, only 7 INTs. In less than an hour, the #Jets have landed two starters -- Whitehead and CB D.J. Reed.— Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) March 15, 2022
This can't be! JD sucks! He's cheap and slow, and only goes for lower tier players in the bargain basement. He doesn't know what he's doing. The last two days has to be some kind of early April Fools' joke!
The #Jets run defense is going to be SCARY good next year. pic.twitter.com/XP2x6de9uf— uSTADIUM (@uSTADIUM) March 15, 2022
Jordan Whitehead is tied with Malcolm Jenkins for 5th among safeties with 22 tackles for loss since 2018.Still only going to be 25 this year.#Jets— Michael Nania (@Michael_Nania) March 15, 2022
Jets are getting a really nice downhill safety who will lay every part of his being on the line for tackles and run fits. Had a top 10 run defense grade (81.5) among all safeties last season, per @PFF.Good signing for them after missing out on Marcus Williams. https://t.co/jtveLFoUB4— Trevor Sikkema (@TampaBayTre) March 15, 2022
I'm told the terms on the deal for S Jordan Whitehead going to the #Jets is a 2-year deal for $14.5M, per league source.@RichCimini 1st on team selection.— JosinaAnderson (@JosinaAnderson) March 15, 2022 Fantastic deal.
So our second option at FS was half the cost of our first choice (Williams) Didn't may want this much in one year? Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Holy shit--this twitter conclusion bout our run defense being scary cause we signed whitehead is jaw-dropping.
It might not be scary but for a passing league the AFC teams are run-heavy with teams Like the Colts, Titans, Browns and Ravens, and Pats we better get better against the run.
