I'm indifferent in this signing. I would have liked to see Powell get some more work but we definitely needed a rb to go with ivory and Powell

I wish the jets had a franchise RB (3 down back) instead of always having multiple backs running the field

We needed another vet due to injury risk to Ivory but Ridley has been injured plenty in the past as well. Not a fan of this signing but it is what it is. Welcome to Jets Ridley. Spill the beans about Bill's playbook.

So long as it's a reasonable price, I don't have a problem with it..... He may beat out Ivory assuming he's healthy.....

Hard to be upset with stockpiling talent, but this makes no sense. He's the exact same RB as Ivory, except Ivory handles contact better. Hopefully this doesn't deter us from taking an RB in the draft. Also, he's coming off major surgery and hasn't been anything more than average since 2012... there better not be too many guaranteed dollars in that deal.

Would have rather Vereen than Ridley.
This doesn't make a lot of sense, unless Ridley will spell Ivory and Powell will be strictly a 3rd down back.

Eh, he's got upside but he's a fumbler off a big injury like people have said. I think this move has potential to be boom or bust. I still want a pass catching back in the draft.

I think we need to see the terms of the contract first. If there are little to no guarantees or if it's a minimum salary, there's not much to freak out about. That would tell us how much they value him, and you would assume someone they value that low wouldn't alter draft plans.

I strongly doubt that Steven Ridley would keep us from drafting a RB.

We know nothing about McG's draft philosophy - but I can guess by the way he has handled FA that he will very strictly follow a BPA philosophy.

I kind of like the idea that players who are cut from our team will be scooped up by other GM's rather than bagging groceries. That is how you really create camp competition!

He's a pure runner like Ivory. Wont help out in the receiving game but he isn't bad in pass protection either. We've lacked a RB who can stay in and block.

Are his fumbling issues really that bad or is it overhyped because belichick goes apeshit over fumbles.

pretty good depth signing, Ivory is not exactly a certainty to stay healthy
