Dave Hutchinson of the Newark Star Ledger reports that the Jets have signed Ken Parrish after a Sunday morning tryout.

I guess Ryan doesn't really love everybody on the team after all.

"I'm tired of seeing ground balls hit," Ryan said in comments circulated by the team. "We've got to do better than that. Our guys know that so we'll see. You watch some practices and you're like, 'Man we've got Ray Guy here.' I want to see that. I want to see an NFL punt. Reggie's numbers look good, but I don't think those are exactly rockets that he hit.

"We're going to find a punter. If he's here or if he's on somebody else's team, we've got to find a punter. I don't care where we go to get one. If he's here [that's] great, then step up and punt. If he's not, then we'll go find one."

Conley certainly has an upside. Maybe he'll be punting to Pizzotti on the practice squad :)

Wow I think with the moves made yesterday and the comments made by signing this punter I think Rex is showing he is not fucking around... I love this comment too...

"I don't care where we go to get one. If he's here [that's] great, then step up and punt. If he's not, then we'll go find one."

Take no prisoners attitude and I love it.... if you don't step up you are going to be unemployed.

Not ready to give up on Conley yet, highest AVG in NCAA last year, 74 yard punt.....I hope he gets another chance in pre-season.

Well, I would say look to the CFL. Those guys play on a 110 yard field and punt more in a season than NFL punters. There's only like 7 punters in the CFL, maybe less because some placekickers punt too. Look up a FA punter from the CFL and bring him down for a week to see what he's got.

The message being sent. If you are not helping this team, you are hurting it. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I know it's only scrubs and free agent signings but the bigger cuts are around the corner. Should be interesting.

This is the one position in the NFL that should have 100s being able to do this job.
Coming from a rugby/soccer/football background, there are tons of guys that can boom punts, surely some of the Pros in the other sports like gaelic football, rugby, yes Aussie rules would want to earn big bucks for something they can already do?
Being able to kick the thing is one thing, and once the cadences have been learnt.....I just don't get it at all.

I will never understand how a great Collage punter doesn?t cut it in the NFL, there?s no trasistion or anything, just catch the ball and punt it.
