He has some legal issues. https://www.si.com/nfl/jets/transac...s-practice-squad-after-offseason-legal-issues
I especially liked this blurb about Brandin Echols: "Echols was involved in a high-speed car crash not far from the Jets' Florham Park-based team facility in April 2022." Shades of Damien Robinson driving into The Old Dump with an assault rifle?
I was a big fan of Winfrey when he came out in the draft. Hopefully the legal issues are over with for him but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Seems like a high risk/high reward kinda move though.
I hope for all of your sake that Saleh is right about his comments regarding Winfrey's character and love for the game. If so, the Jets may be able to straighten him out. He has a ton of talent. Even as Q's backup, he could help the team, but if can improve significantly vs the run, a DL of Huff, Q, JJ and Winfrey with JFM, McDonald, Jefferson, and Clemons rotating in frequentl should be significantly better and terrorize opposing QBs even more. Of course, in true Jets' fashion, he'll wind up murdering someone, commiting armed robbery, or getting into a fight with one of the Jets' best players and significantly injuring him.
