Don't know anything about him. But he's gotta be better than Tom Compton and Connor McDermott. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001107234/article/track-all-of-saturdays-nfl-free-agency-news
Can't hurt. Create as much competition as possible since there are no clear cut starters on this line other than McGovern. Make no mistake this OL is still complete garbage. I would like Beachum back for insurance since Fant/Edoga can't be trusted and it's possible we don't get any of the 4 OTs at 11.
Waiting to see the price tag. Hopefully it's cheap. I like that it's another lineman that can play across the interior.
He can play both C/OG. He was Ryan Kelly's backup at C with the Colts last season. He was also with the Colts in 2018, but haven't seen a depth chart from that season. Prior to that he was on the Eagles. He appeared in 13 games his rookies season (2016), but only 3 his second season with the Eagles. He only weighs 298, so sounds like he is a little light in the seat of the pants, but maybe he has good movement skills. Couldn't find a draft profile on him. Could be just competition for Harrison and TC fodder, or perhaps could supplant Harrison as the backup C, and Harrison could move to be the backup OG.
Undrafted back in 2014 and 6 season's later he's been on 3 different teams (Eagles/Vikings/Colts) and somehow has a combined 0 NFL starts. I could be wrong, but he does not seem very promising to me whatsoever.
He's depth. He may compete, push the others. But it's a depth signing. Douglas is trying to throw as much at our weakest spot as possible. That's the best way to fix it. The inside of our line in particular was garbage last year. So now he is getting as many g/c as possible so that Sam can actually have time. It makes sense.
True but 6 years in the league after going undrafted and still not a single (even spot) start isn't anything to consider as valued depth. Chances are he won't be on our opening day roster.
Even not starting he could be better than some of the garbage had last year. Throwing everything you can to keep Darnold up isn't a bad thing. We need to see what Darnold can do without running for his life every play. He could be gone by the end of the offseason, but it's a chance we need to take.
